The Congressional Hispanic Caucus has demanded a meeting with Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials after raids across the country netted hundreds of illegal immigrants.
"These raids have struck fear in the hearts of the immigrant community as many fear that President Trump’s promised 'deportation force' is now in full-swing," the caucus said in a letter Friday to ICE acting director Thomas Homan, Politico reports.
"It is critical that our constituents have clarity on ICE operations and we request a copy of this memo," the letter said. "Without this guidance, our communities will be paralyzed as students will remain home from school, parents will be afraid to leave children alone and our local economies will be irreparably damaged."

ummm illegal? what is not to understand.
ReplyDeleteillegals are not constituents as they cannot vote.
if you legal, there is nothing to fear
So if I am reading this right, now they want us to give them a heads up before we come get the illegals and deport them right?
ReplyDeleteAwwwe all the illegals are scared because they are finally getting what should have come a looooong time ago. If they came legally then there would be no problem.
ReplyDeleteJust tell them "if you are here legally, you have nothing to fear. If you broke the law to get into this country, go back home and do it the RIGHT way."
ReplyDeleteAs long as they are not breaking any laws they have nothing to worry about and if they are here illegally then please explain how they are part of your constituency when they should not be here in the first place!
ReplyDeleteActually, this isn't such a bad thing. It serves as a fair warning.
ReplyDeleteThere is still a fair amount of time for them to self-deport before the wall goes up.
That will alleviate the fear.
