This sounds like a good thing! Goose Creek seems to always change with the times and update their buildings and services. I stop at many of them along the shore.
I stopped going to the tiger mart by the mall because the workers seemed mad at me for wanting to buy something because I was interrupting their smoke break - haven't been there in over a year.
Both companies are good ones and this will be a good thing for the public. Glad to see a local bought the business as posed to some company from outside the shore. Hope they keep earn and turn because I use it all the time.
Im a regular at both stores but like the beer cave because it really is a lot colder than most stores. I know they will keep the cold beer. now I guess there will be 3 goose creaks on route 50 which seems like overkill in a way.
The Gordy stores are some of the best in town. I love them and shop at all 4 stores including Delmar. They have the lowest Subway prices and cold beer plus the return earn card. I have saved a lot of money with return earn. Ten cents for every Evolution beer package. It adds up. I hope they keep it going but I know Goose Creeks don't have return earn.
All are good stores, I agree with the other comments the return and earn program is worth keeping. Hope Goose Creek finds a way to incorporate that program.
The Gordy Tiger Mart was a great acquisition for the Goose Creek Chain. They can't go wrong assuming they are keeping all of the people as employees. The Goose Creek stores are great operations and now they will have some super stores to compete in Salisbury. These Baltimore Royal Farm stores are popping up everywhere and I think buying Gordy out was a great move for Goose Creek. If they can get the Wine Rack stores into the mix, it will be a super local owned company. As a supplier, I wish them a lot of luck.
You know nothing of the convenience store business I see.New management, new owner, that all means change. Relax and give it a chance, don't be so negative.
Royal farms really suck. Their chicken is undercooked/underseasoned. Their western fries are never coated much any more and again, no seasoning on them, not even salt. The rest of the deli food is nasty.
Wawa's are 100 times better in quality and freshness. At least N. Salisbury and Delmar, we'll leave the hood one by the S-Curve out.
Look out for a big increase in gas prices. I won't be shopping at Goose Creek. I hope Gordy's got big money for the businesses that Goose Creek is going to ruin.
I live in Salisbury so I don't know if Goose Creek is high price for gas? Is that true?
Gordy is always the same as Wawa plus I save with return and earn. That makes Gordy the lowest in town really. I think the Goose Creaks are Exxons except for Prince Ann. So the price should be same.

ReplyDeleteThis was finalized back in the beginning of December.
ReplyDeleteby Denny's on Rt 50?
ReplyDeleteAll 4 of them, not just that one.
DeleteBye Bye Return and Earn points, Hello PLENTI
ReplyDeleteYou can use Plenti there now silly
DeleteThey're keeping return and earn
DeleteThe unused space at the end of the Rt 50 and Truitt St Goose Creek is perplexing. We thought something would have occupied it long ago.
ReplyDelete2:19pm-all 4 Tiger Mart locations will be Goose Creeks
ReplyDeleteMaybe the new help can actually say thank you at the end of the transaction?

ReplyDeleteare they going to continue using the same unintelligent workers?

What is the difference what name is on the store... will not change at all

Delete6:13-Wine Rack includes the Corner Marts in VA-it's a really big chain. Wouldn't be nearly as easy to acquire as the 4 Gordys.

Wawa is the best of the gas stations.
ReplyDeleteGreat coffee and good sandwiches.
They could use some hep with training the people though.
What does that have to do with this article?
DeleteBig mistake
ReplyDeletePlenti of gas price Gouging going on ...price tooo High
ReplyDeleteI hope they keep the employees at Autumn Terrace as they are all stellar. They are very nice, courteous, great bunch!!
ReplyDeleteIs a Royal Farms going where the Plaza Tapitia is?
ReplyDeleteYes. . .Tapatia will be torn down as it is rotten anyway. Frank Hanna milked that property far past its age limitations.

Goose Creek needs to change its model - by that I mean the coffee rack needs a dramatic improvement. However - the Popeyes connection is a big plus.
ReplyDeleteThe Plaza Tapitia is an odd location for a gas station. Isn't there a Exxon right next door?
