Saturday Night Live writer Katie Rich has been suspended indefinitely from the program after posting a tweet Friday mocking Donald Trump’s 10-year-old son, Barron Trump.
A source close to the long-running variety show told the New York Times that Rich’s suspension is “indefinite.” The writer’s name did not appear in the credits of Saturday night’s episode, which was hosted by comedian Aziz Ansari.
“Barron will be this country’s first homeschool shooter,” Rich tweeted on Friday, before later deleting the message and deactivating her Twitter account.
On Monday, Rich reactivated her account and posted an apology: “I sincerely apologize for the insensitive tweet. I deeply regret my actions & offensive words. It was inexcusable & I’m so sorry.”
well what about the staffer that tweeted that the Obama girls were dressed like they were waiting for a spot at the bar (there WERE dress so)? She was fired. This one should be too.
ReplyDeleteHow she get fired. The family and children of someone in political office should never be open to ridicule or bullying no matter what they think of the parent. This goes or Obama's children as well. They need to be left alone period!!! The staffer should also be fired or disciplined.
ReplyDeleteRosie O'Donnell should also be sued for slander for her comments about Trumps son "looking Autistic"!
What? "there were dress so"
ReplyDeleteChildren are OFF LIMITS!
ReplyDeleteFIRE her now and arrest madonna with her.
ReplyDeleteNO - send Madonna back overseas where she belongs. Remember she hated to USA media for taking pics of her kids/lack of privacy to her many husbands/boyfriends, so she moved overseas.
ReplyDeleteput madonna on the no fly list that will mess her and her tours up big time then she can live in england with that Fake accent.
ReplyDeleteSNL has become nothing but a political machine. It is sad to even turn it on anymore because you know what is coming. A skit about Trump, a skit about Russia. Either a woman or an individual who is not Caucasian, which is completely fine. But then they use that platform to turn it into a PC situation. I watched the opening skit followed by about 3 minutes worth of Aziz Ansari's awkward intro. That was enough to turn it off. I mean can we possibly move on? He is now the President of the United States and they treat him like he is not deserving of respect. Regardless if you voted for him or believe he is a "legitimate" President, he does now hold the office. So a weekly show based that mocks our President is condescending in my opinion. Move on, it is getting old.
ReplyDeleteLeave the youngest child alone. The older kids are fair game because they chose to be in the polital arena.
ReplyDeleteThe older kids are adults and can handle themselves.
ReplyDeleteAs distasteful as it is.... snl shouldn't fire her... thats why this country is sh... every one offended... freedom of speech it applies to everyone... im not condoning what shesaid but much worse has been said
