O’Malley now supports non-partisan commissions to draw congressional districts he admits gerrymandering

Former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley now says he supports “non-partisan redistricting commissions not only for drawing Congressional districts every ten years, but for state legislative districts as well,” even while admitting he engaged in partisan gerrymandering as a Democratic governor.

“We must, on a state by state basis, push for an end to gerrymandered Congressional districts,” he told an audience Tuesday at the Boston College law school, where he is a distinguished visiting professor.

O’Malley’s remarks were first reported in the BC student newspaper The Heights. The ex-governor sent out a full transcript of his remarks Friday morning.

  1. Easy to admit crap you can't be held accountable of doing your own self...

  2. As did Jim Ireton as Mayor in Salisbury. I suspect it's a huge problem not isolated to Salisbury or Maryland. Debbie Campbell, Terry Cohen and Tim Spies worked long and hard to get fairness for Salisbury voters and Ireton sabotaged the at every turn.

  3. O'Malley is a 'Wolf dressed in Sheep's clothing'. Look at what he did to Mike McDermott's District - carved it up and pitted Otto against McDermott. But this will ultimately backfire on O'Malley as Mathias - only won by a miniscule vote - so much so that the election results had to wait until the absentees were counted.

That is how weak Jim Mathias is on the eastern shore.

  5. Watch out, folks! The only reason he's putting on this "act" is to get his name on the committee to further gerrymander everything for the worse. Ignore him.

  6. O'Malley is a criminal and a tyrant. He and Frosch and their cronies should be Jailed.

  7. I've lost a lot of respect for Boston College Law School if they've hired him to teach. Clearly, they know nothing.

  8. fade away Martin. You also helped draw the lines so your boys could hold power. Us voters will not forget that. Glad Hogan smacked you off the perch.

You just mentioned three of the best ever on the city team.

I admit not reading this post because I can't stand the loser. What does this failure do for a living? Get a job and stop living off of your family turd. A job (work), not politics. You would think this clown was old enough to work, instead of spouting off embarrassing his family.

  13. Nothing positive to say about O'Malley. Total trainwreck as governor. And Boston College Law prepared grifter Jawn Kerry for his career slopping at the public trough. Telling that with the profusion of law schools around DC none had an overwhelming desire to slide him under the door and expose students to him. Stay home and walk the dog.
