When Patricia Nazzal videotaped a congressional motorcade passing her car on Interstate 70, she ended up documenting a fatal crash just ahead of her.
Maryland State Police said one person was killed Wednesday morning in a four-vehicle crash as other motorists stopped for the motorcade on westbound I-70 at the ramp from northbound Interstate 270.
Police had not released the identity of the person who died as of late Wednesday night.
The motorcade was part of a trip by U.S. Senate Democrats to Shepherdstown, West Virginia, where they gathered Wednesday for a retreat. Authorities did not say who was in the vehicles in the motorcade that was connected to the crash.
Nazzal, who lives in Frederick, said she pulled over on I-70 because she saw an officer on a motorcycle gesturing for traffic to move to the right. While she waited, she started videotaping because she thought the motorcade might include the president or someone else prominent.

Why the hell do senators need this type of treatment? And a Retreat - give me a break. Term limits needed immediately!!
ReplyDeleteNew age open minded people may recall THIS even occurring some years back. Not an event like it mind you,but this very event.
ReplyDeleteWE the tax payers are PAYING for the fuel and the RETREAT and they don't have the decency to stop and offer any help in this horrible accident. Sad situation
ReplyDeleteSenate Democrats going to "Retreat"? Didn't they just had Christmas Holiday break and New Year's holiday? These Crooked Politicians just come to work and go on another vacations ?! On Taxpayer Dime, while the taxpayers are working and struggling to pay bills. Term Limits now, Pay Reductions and No More Golden Parachutes!
ReplyDeleteYou wouldn't be bitching about it if this retreat was for republicans
ReplyDeleteNeat - President Trump has been in Office for one Week, tomorrow, working his butt off - day and night - undoing what Congress and the 44th President has screwed up over the past eight years.
ReplyDeleteThis Congress convened on January 3rd, and the U.S. Senate DEMOCRATS are now in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, where they gathered Wednesday and Thursday for a retreat
The sad fact is we know this because someone was killed in an accident. OUR U S Senate DEMOCRATS thought it necessary to stop all traffic so at least two buses and several SUVs carrying U S Senate DEMOCRATS in a motorcade could stay together during their trip.
You think those U S Senate Democrats were to the Retreat to discuss ways to help President Trump Make America Great Again?
Prayers to the family of the deceased and also to the Truck driver. IMO I believe it would be a travesty to charge the truck driver when somebody made a bad call to close one of the busiest roads at 9 AM, without warning.
Why do they need a motorcade? Unless it is the President or the VP there should be no special treatment. Who was the idiot that thought it would be a good idea to have a motorcade go through the middle of rush hour traffic. There was no emergency so there was no need for lights and sirens for this motorcade.

ReplyDeleteSure the Democrat senators were going to:
A) Help some poor person fix their house.
B) Or to pick up litter.
C) Or to rally support for coal miners.
D) Live high on the hog at a ritzy get-away while plotting to undercut the president and pledge fealty to Soros.
Answer D is correct. Actually kind of wasteful since they could have held their event at the new Trump hotel in DC!
Good one, 12:27.
ReplyDeleteIf you would all pay attention to more than the sound of your own voices, those of you bitching about Democrats having a retreat you would know that the Republicans are currently on retreat in Philadelphia and in fact the president took Air Force One to visit with them this morning. Just sayin

ReplyDeleteHow many people were killed going to the one in Philly? There NEVER should be lights and sirens I don't care who they are transporting. They can wait in traffic like the rest of us not delay the public (or in this case worse) so they can get to their retreat in a hurry.
People complaining about Democrats spending tax money on this retreat do know that the republicans are also having a retreat this week, in Philadelphia?? Right??
