Thank you for stopping to help. Say what you will about the Eastern Shore, someone will stop if they see signs of distress. I've benefited from this from car troubles in my youth. So good that you saw it and were able to help. Bad news, but good thing you stopped to help. I hope things end well. Thank you.
The officer actually left with an injured dog on the road and didn't call AC to come help. That just wasn't right. Thank you for helping instead of leaving the dog to suffer.
Officer i found out did call but wasnt fast enough for me dog was in so much pain i called them w/o knowing he did but i couldnt let him suffer so took her to pets er to find out that she was way too bad in shape my point is why he left and woman who hit dog had left w/o any sympathy so i took it in my own hands and did what was right people bash joe for posting this but people need to stop and actually do what is right not just pass by and let things happend and whatch either way dog is out of its misery and in a better place instead of just dying pain i gave her water and rubbed her till it was time to go
I am one of the people in my neighborhood who keeps my dog on a leash making certain that she is a good neighbor. Recently several new people have moved in and are letting their large dogs run the neighborhood. I said something to one of the new neighbors that this is not a good idea because they get into everything and could be hit by a car. Now I'm the evil neighbor who doesn't think it is cute to see these dogs run free. It takes far more love and care to be a good pet parent than to see this kind of thing occur. I really feel sorry for both this dog and his parent.
Over my lifetime I/We have owned a lot of animals. We have always considered ourselves very responsible pet owners.
That being said, mistakes unfortunately happen. I can recall that many years ago how two of our horses mysteriously escaped and wandered well off our property.
Fortunately we located them but let me assure you, it was an experience.
I find it very interesting how some of you go on the attack and have NO IDEA what happened or how.
To the owners, we feel your pain and we are so sorry for your loss. To the nay sayers, shut the hell up and go about your own business.
People can say what they want about joe but when i report things to wboc delmarvanow etc nothing happens they have there own agenda not the people of this town joe actually post all my things i send when its actually real news from here not on his benefit good guy and will continue to help wake up and realize fake news and media is just for themselves not us thanks again joe for posting this tragic day for me and the family of this poor dog
I myself recently lost both of my fur babies when they were hit by a car. We had just moved to a new house and didn't realize they knew how to open doors. We had them since they were 8 weeks old and not once in their 6 years had they ever opened one. That being said, I understand how easily accidents happen. I pray this family finds peace and I want to thank the gentleman who stopped and took him to the vet. To those of you criticizing the owners, those in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. I hope You never Have too endure what they are going through and if you do.... Well, karma is a bitch.
Thank God for SBYNews to post these things to bring a community together, even when things go bad. Thank you who took the dog to pert er to try to save it. Thanks for all the sympathy shown here. So sorry for the bad ending, but look who delivered here and who didn't.
Who did: SBYNews, a Good Sam who took the dog to the ER, Friends who offered sympathy.
Who didn't:
WBOC, WMDT, Wicomico dog catcher. Wicomico Humane Society.
My dogs have a fence and I still get mad when strays go to the fence and wind up my dogs. I have caught some of these dogs three times and turned over to animal control and informed them of the owners. One lady lost Herr dog because it was caught three other times by other people. I have owned dogs my whole life and I can count one one hand the times they got away from me. This dog didn't need to be out on that road.People need to eat them like kids you have to watch them Andale them safe.
This looks just like my 65 year old dad's pure bred lab that was stolen from his fenced back yard about 1 year ago. Her name is Princess and she would not be more than 5 years old. He doesn't live very far from Zion Rd. Do you know who the "owners" are and if it was a male or female dog? Have the owners tried to contact anyone to find out where "their" dog is? I'd like to remain anonymous just because this is just pure speculation at this point.
We've had labs for over 50 some years and i had to pick his lab that snuck out on road one evening in fog. I ifted him out of ditch and we took to the 24hr center over by kmart a few years ago. I still get sad when any animal dies after growing up around it all my life on farm. This lab had it's spine and had to be put down. You always feel as though you lose a part of yourself.
Aw no I hope it he she makes it
ReplyDeleteI will pray for him that he will be okay, I never understand why pets aren't kept up so this very thing doesn't happen. God Bless.

DeleteWe may not know what led up to this but we know what happened.

ReplyDelete8:07,right on Joe.
ReplyDeleteYou are to be thanked many times over
ReplyDeletefor your kindness in not letting this
dog suffer any longer then he did!
I hope people will help out with
paying the bill to put him to sleep.
It's quite sad that the high cost of Vet
care is stopping people from having an animal
or helping an animal in distress such as
this dog .
God Bless you Many times over for your
compassion & kindness young man!!
