Dog Attacks Family Trying To Dress It In Sweater, 3 Hurt

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Police in Florida say an angry dog sent three people to the hospital after one tried to put a sweater on it.Tampa police say the pit bull mix named Scarface bit a 52-year-old woman who was trying to dress him on Friday and her husband was attacked while trying to pull the dog off of her. Police say the couple’s 22-year-old son was attacked while trying to stop the dog by stabbing it in the neck and head.

The three people escaped the house and left the dog in the backyard.

Police say animal control officers shot it with a tranquilizer gun, but it managed to get back into the house where there were two children present. Police used a bean bag gun and stun gun on the animal before catching it.

  1. You just cannot always trust these dogs. It is the breed, bloodlines and human contact over the dogs life. I have seen neighbors who had a really sweet female would not hurt a fly then she was bred to another pit bull some of the litter were like her and some were dangerous even the owner was scared.

  3. I have dressed all three of my boxers in sweaters..they don't care..I like all animals but pit bulls keep having issues. They are a dog that should be handled by a competent and experienced dog owner..most people realize when thier dog is upset or acting strangely.I know way before if my dogs are going to attack. Mine though never have hurt anyone..just birds.

  5. Love boxers 11:54 We had a boxer growing up in the 60's 70's and I was still a child. I used to dress him in clothes and put a "kerchief" tied on his head and he tolerated ever minute of it. I didn't leave that dog alone. I was always hanging on him and hugging him and he didn't mind at all.

  8. Wait, the son's method of correcting the dog was to first pull a knife and stab the animal.

This tells me a lot about how the animal was "trained" and treated.

Now, the dog will never trust a human again. He will have to be put down.

    What a sorry shame.
