It's called a medical assist. Believe it or not but a paramedic and EMT can't handle every medical/trauma scene by themselves. It was reported that one of the patients was in trauma arrest. Without a Lucas automated compressions device, an arrest requires 3 people; 1 to secure the airway and provide ventilations, 1 to perform compressions, and 1 to manage the cardiac monitor/defibrillator, establish IV access, and push meds. Not to mention the fact that there were 2 patients shot.
Butt, Butt, Butt I thought crime was down in da 'Bury. At least that is what Jim Liarton and Fake Jake Day keep claiming. Fake Jake will even go so far as to challenge you on Facebook about it and call you a Troll if you don't agree with that idiot!
Oh wait! Jake Day wants the taxpayers to now give him a full time salary for being the mayor? Jake Day you knew you were getting part time pay when you took this job and now that you are the Mare I don't feel any safer.
That is the 2nd murder in about a year within a block of each other. I remember years ago - to great fanfare - a police substation was opened on Church Street. Another was located on Smith Street. Neither did any good so the idea of "community policing" has been (no pun intended) shot to hell.
Then there was an effort to combine patrol officers with probation officers to make "house calls" on high risk offenders (whatever that means) and that failed. Policing in areas of gangs and drugs will not work. Incarceration will work. It will help protect me and my family. I would rather foot the bill of $18,000 annually to lock people up in order to "buy" some piece of mind and safety in our community. Look at all that crap last night from Malls throughout America. Until the African American community leaders and pastors can be strong enough to de-thug-a-tize a town, we are all going down the drain. As much as I support right to carry laws in Maryland I am not sure that's going to work either. I guess I don't have an answer. God help us all.

What volunteers? There is a " volunteer" station down the road but good luck getting anybody to respond.

I seriously doubt that. Those stupid Democrats and silly Snowflakes will vote him back in. Plus who wants the freaking job at $25,000 year. Why do you think Jake is using the Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Salisbury Committee to say that the Job needs a full time salary!
I've got an idea, get rid of the City Administration, the Assistant City Adminstrator, the City Clerk, the PIO positions and several of the secretaries in the Mayors Office before we start thinking "Full Time Mayor" salary!

Well all the back room politics and good ol boy agendas has finally caught up to salisbury. The bottom line is all the deals made through the mayor's office and certain contractors instead of directing resources to really clean up the city. And then you have council president Cannon who provides bare minimum slumlord housing in the area. This family has ripped off the tax payers for decades and this type of low standard housing needs to be shut down

ReplyDeleteWe even have a woman as Police Chief! Isn't that perhaps the ONE EXAMPLE of a career that should be a man? Geez We are talking about PROTECTING the public. Shouldn't a man be one doing the protecting? Really?

You want things to start right direction gather as many as possible and put Mayor on the spot along with the entire city council and ask why they won't make a change.
