In this day/age, its so much easy via automation to shop around. Back in the dark ages, one had to wait for the "weekend circular" ads to come out then compare on a Sunday morning. Now its click click click BOOM! Soon the drone's will be ringing our door bells with our products! Then Skynet will take over!!
SO important to shop around and don't forget to BARTER too...never hurts to ask for a little discount - especially since businesses MUST move their products!!
Not even going to comment about why a person needs a gallon of miracle whip, but Sam's club has the best prices on automotive batteries and tires, dog food and scrapple.
Priced Borsari seasonings on Amazon and at Whole Fiods. Whole Foods was way less and also offered a case discount at checkout because I had 8 jars. I was surprised to learn that Amazon was actually substantially more. It pays to shop around.
Poor poor people who think they're special because they have a Sam's Club membership. They have poor math skills which are indicated by case lot purchases that give them little or no individual item savings.I got a membership once but let it go because there was no advantage. My neighbor toted in enough food to feed an army just before Christmas, all purchased at Sam's,but 20 minutes later he was sending runners to the local convenience store to get stuff he still needed, lol. And why were all of those people who "stocked up" for the big storm right back out on the road the next day?
Use to buy most all things on amazon, but after this last year they have become way more expensive on things for they have become more monopolized. So found that I was finding same thing from other suppliers a lot less. Watch out for when big companies start to go big for they always tend to get monopolized. Its called controlled.
A lot of things at Sam's are a rip off. We use half and half for our coffee and had been paying $1.88 per container and then it went to $2.48 and I contacted their home office to complain but to no avail. Still $2.48 three weeks later. Food Lion $2.29 and WalMart $1.98. As stated earlier you don't have to pay for the privilege to shop at either of the two I mentioned. Just one item of many that you need to check pricing on.
And did you ask at Ace Hardware or Bryan and Brittingham's? Possibly not on this item, but frequently a locally owned business can beat Walmart, Sam's, Best Buy and Amazon.
I own a local retail store of a different product and it makes me sick to see how packed these big box stores are when I can not only beat their pricing, but offer a full year warranty vs. 14/30days and have knowledge of the product.
People are hypocrits, they keep buying from Amazon, but then want to play sad when the local shops close up.
I am definitely guilty of this! If you do any advertisements (online, radio or tv or print) that should be your ad! Put a poster in your store window. Consumers are lazy and we need you to remind us that local is better! I am on advertising and I am still influenced by ads! Shout it from the rooftops, It will pay off!
Due to poor service and a long waiting line that was over an hour at check out three years ago, I quit going there and did not renew my membership. I now go to BJ's Warehouse in Selbyville DE. The unit prices are to me, are the same by unit as if, so I really don't see much much of a savings, but the service and selection is great, and they only card you at checkout and not when you go into the store. It's also tax free shopping, so there is something to be said about that.

Lesson well learned. Always shop around. Even on Amazon. They don't always have the best price either.
ReplyDeleteThere are a lot of things that are cheaper at Walmart than Sams. My big one was a gallon size Miracle Whip.

ReplyDeleteI recently moved back to the shore and considered a Sam's membership. Decided to keep my Costco membership instead.
ReplyDeletenot always cheaper at walmart, either.
ReplyDeleteHeck of a price to pay for something made in China. "Make America Great Again"!

ReplyDeleteThats why i always use price match and always works

The point is be a good consumer. Shop around. No one place will have the best prices on everything.
ReplyDeleteOne of many reasons we dumped our Sam's membership. What things we saved on there just didn't add up to anywhere near the yearly membership fee.

ReplyDeleteWhen did bj's come to selbyville? Last time I checked it was in millsboro.
ReplyDelete3:41, your right, it is Millsboro.
