A Viewer Asks: SFD responding to calls in Cambridge
Just heard a call for Salisbury paramedic. The bariatric unit was needed to respond to Cambridge for a patient with difficulty breathing. It was somewhere near the Walmart. I heard them say to turn left at Walmart and the home was back there somewhere. Does SFD have more than 1 bariatric unit? What happens if they need one here? Seems odd they call them from that far away.
Thank you for posting this. I am glad you are concerned and sent in this response. Everyone should be paying attention because Rick Hoppes, John Tull, Darrin Scott will screw the tax payers in a heart beat with the support of Jake Day, Jim Ireton, Jack Heath and Muir Boda.
9:56, You mean Darren Scott. Yeah, I heard all about him being an Idiot in the local bars. It seems the man can't take NO for an answer and refuses to leave people alone when he's rejected. I also heard he was running his mouth calling Culver and a-hole. Funniest part is, I also heard Culver confronted him to HIS FACE about it and Scott sh!t his pants on the spot. Did I mention I know his soon to be ex-wife?
The patient was in severe distress (Delta level call, Echo means your dead) Cambridge for whatever reason couldn't find a bariatric (fat person) ambulance in their district, so called for next closest one. They ended up turning Salisbury around before they even reached Hebron. They have to cover their bases, you going to let patient die because of politics or a county line?
As far as what if Salisbury needed on, I believe Parsonsburg has a bariatric unit Salisbury could have used if a call came up. But that's highly unlikely, I've only ever hear about 1 bariatric call per week, if even that many.
So if downtown Salisbury was burning down, you wouldn't want Cambridge to come help? It's called mutual aid, you help me, and I'll help you when needed.
SFD do not want to serve Wicomico County but they serve other Counties With our tax payer dollars. What am I missing besides piss poor management? Culver should cut funding to SFD and give to the County Volunteer companies. At least the ones of us in Wicomico County will have a response.
Fat person in distress. They needed a larger ambulance and possibly more people to help load the person.Watch 600lb life on TLC and you will understand the need for the call.
Cambridge has become the small P.G. County of the eastern shore , we will soon be a slave to them and their wishes.
ReplyDeleteAnother scanner fire chief.

ReplyDeleteI heard the "new" paid Deputy Chief is perving out on the County HR director. Has anyone got any new info on that?

ReplyDeleteSounds like Cambridge needs to purchase a bariatric unit.
ReplyDeleteJoe, your comment was spot on!
ReplyDeleteThe volunteer companies can't handle it. And I'm a volunteer. If they tell you they can, they are lying.
