This Guy is Risking His Freedom So that You Can Keep Yours

New York is a terrible place. This guy is doing something to fix it:

They want to put a red light to red-light cameras.

Long Islander Bryan Valentine, 26, was arrested Friday night for putting plastic bags over two red-light cameras at the intersection of Main Street and Landing Avenue in Smithtown.

Valentine is a follower of a group of self-styled “Red Light Robin Hoods,” who feel the cameras are a “money grab.” Members of the group hold get-togethers aimed at figuring out how to put the cameras out of commission.

The Saint James resident, who faces criminal-tampering charges, made bail Saturday and was released from the Suffolk County 4th Precinct station house. He is scheduled to be arraigned May 26 at Suffolk County District Court in Central Islip.

Red light cameras are a problem for those hardworking New Yorkers who have chosen to stay in a state they love despite high taxes. The state's fed up voters have demanded fiscal accountability, and cash strapped, patronage heavy municipalities unwilling to actually cut spending have turned to treating citizens like cash cows. Kudos to Bryan Valentine, and those like him, who are doing their part to expose the scam.

An Indiana Pastor Made His Congregation Unwitting Drug Mules in a Synthetic Pot Ring

Robert Jaynes Jr. must have been a little too inspired by Breaking Bad's Walter White. The Indiana pastor recently pleaded guilty to producing nearly 100 tons of synthetic marijuana and selling the stuff for $2.6 million. Some members of Jaynes's congregation helped to manufacture and transport the synthetic pot, known as spice or K2.

Jaynes told police that most members of his congregation believed he was running a "potpourri" business run out of warehouses near Irvington Bible Baptist Church, a parish he started 15 years prior to his arrest in October 2013. The "potpourri," however, was actually spice that Jaynes had either bought or produced himself with materials purchased from China.

In case this story wasn't weird enough, two married cops were also implicated in the drug ring for assisting Jaynes with security, and Jaynes would instruct other, unwitting members of his congregation to write personal checks to Reliable Distributing, a broker of raw synthetic drug powders.

The Panama Papers Show Us That Every Political System in the World Might Be Rigged

And they're the result of a brilliant international exercise in investigative journalism.

MADISON, WISCONSIN—
You'll have to forgive me, but it was the weekend, so I didn't manage to get through all 11.5 million files that were leaked regarding who was stashing how much money where around the globe. But I read enough to know that a whole massive amount of the world's financial and political corruption got dumped onto the Intertoobz, certainly enough to give more weight to the possibility that every political system in the world—even the nakedly authoritarian ones—is hopelessly rigged, and that the marvelous new world of the miraculous global economy is an even bigger thieves' paradise than you, me, or even Jamie Dimon thought it was.

Twelve national leaders are among 143 politicians, their families and close associates from around the world known to have been using offshore tax havens. A $2bn trail leads all the way to Vladimir Putin. The Russian president's best friend—a cellist called Sergei Roldugin—is at the centre of a scheme in which money from Russian state banks is hidden offshore. Some of it ends up in a ski resort where in 2013 Putin's daughter Katerina got married.

Among national leaders with offshore wealth are Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan's prime minister; Ayad Allawi, ex-interim prime minister and former vice-president of Iraq; Petro Poroshenko, president of Ukraine; Alaa Mubarak, son of Egypt's former president; and the prime minister of Iceland, Sigmundur Davíð Gunnlaugsson. Six members of the House of Lords, three former Conservative MPs and dozens of donors to UK political parties have had offshore assets. The families of at least eight current and former members of China's supreme ruling body, the politburo, have been found to have hidden wealth offshore. Twenty-three individuals who have had sanctions imposed on them for supporting the regimes in North Korea, Zimbabwe, Russia, Iran and Syria have been clients of Mossack Fonseca. Their companies were harboured by the Seychelles, the British Virgin Islands, Panama and other jurisdictions. A key member of Fifa's powerful ethics committee, which is supposed to be spearheading reform at world football's scandal-hit governing body, acted as a lawyer for individuals and companies recently charged with bribery and corruption. One leaked memorandum from a partner of Mossack Fonseca said: "Ninety-five per cent of our work coincidentally consists in selling vehicles to avoid taxes."

Delegate Carl Anderton Session Week #12

Session Week #12
We just wrapped up the 12th week of the 436th Maryland General Assembly and look forward to the upcoming week, which is the last full week. Legislative session ends on Monday, April 11th, which is called “Sine Die”. As I wrote last week, we will be working right up until midnight on Sine Die. When session ends we will re-open our Salisbury office. Look for that announcement in the coming weeks.

(Here, I was talking to Delegate Mary Beth Carozza, who I am blessed to sit beside on the House Floor.)

This past week we worked on both the operating (SB190) and the capital budgets (SB191). They both passed with bipartisan support and await the Governor’s signature. The budgets include funding for local projects including: Salisbury University, University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) and Shorebird Stadium, among others. I talked about the budget in an interview with WMDT, specifically mentioning that Governor Hogan’s budget included no new taxes for the second year in a row. In addition, the Baltimore Sun reported, “The budget leaves a $400 million surplus, as well as puts $1 billion into a rainy day fund. It also includes enough money to limit public college and university tuition increases to no more than 2 percent…”
The Bay Bridge is a frequent topic of discussion on the Eastern Shore.  This week I was interviewed about the importance of the Bay Bridge by Fox 45. The initial bridge was opened for service in 1952, while the second followed in 1973. The bridge is not only a vital link between the people living on each side, it is also critical to the transportation of Eastern Shore goods and services to the larger markets on the other side. It also allows Eastern Shore residents access to jobs on the other side. It’s important that we begin the conversation now about how we are going to handle the ever-increasing traffic, while addressing safety concerns of the aging spans.
This coming week we will see a flurry of activity on bills that have yet to pass both chambers.
One of the bills that I co-sponsored will be voted on in the Senate this week is (HB431) also known as the “ABLE” bill. HB431 has wide bipartisan support and members of both parties are among the 67 co-sponsors. It passed the House with a 137-0 vote and I am optimistic that it will pass the Senate as well. The bill draws its’ inspiration from the Federal ABLE Act. Here is an explanation of the act from the Maryland Department of Disabilities website:
On December 19, 2014, the Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) Act was signed into law. This federal law will give many people who acquired disabilities prior to the age of 26 the ability to open tax-exempt bank accounts without losing eligibility for federal means-tested benefits. Funds in these accounts can be used for disability-related expenses. Eligible individuals must open an account in their state of residence, and most states are still working to set up programs to administer these accounts.
Keeping in constant communication with a perpetually open door is our way of#makingithappen. We will continue to advocate for the Eastern Shore, poultry farmers, and our Shore way of life. I appreciate that you have taken the time to read our newsletter and thank you for your support. Please contact our office with any ideas, issues, or concerns that you have. We’re here to work for you.
Blessed to be your voice in Annapolis,
Carl

A Desperate Hillary's Hypocritical Plea

Last week, Hillary Clinton was absolutely creamed by Bernie Sanders, who pulled off a massive three state sweep that made him a thorn in Clinton's side once again. Her response? The Queen of Mean quipped that she would not debate Sanders again until he changed his tone. Many found this utterly ridiculous, since Sanders Campaign has been as meek as they come.

But with Bernie Sanders building a considerable lead over the Clinton clan in Wisconsin and rising in New York, the candidate has changed her mind. Now? She's demanding a debate with Sanders:

The Sanders campaign needs to stop with the games.

Over the course of the last week, we have offered three specific dates for a debate in New York, all of which the Sanders campaign rejected. We offered Monday, April 4 at 7:30 pm. We were told that the Sanders campaign rejected this date because they wanted the debate to be held after the Wisconsin primary and would make themselves available on any date between Wisconsin and New York. We then offered the night of April 14th and that was rejected by Sanders. While we preferred to do an evening debate on the 14th, we then agreed to a debate on Good Morning America on April 15, understanding that the Sanders campaign had already agreed to this forum. That, too, was rejected.

This is rich from Clinton. Aside from her refusal to commit to debating Sanders just a week ago, the candidate "coincidentally" benefitted from a series of DNC sanctioned debates that were scheduled when no one was watching.

Salisbury Man Convicted of Witness Intimidation

On April 4, 2016, a Wicomico County jury convicted Tyrell Adrian Joyce, age 28, of Salisbury, Maryland, of inhibiting testimony of a witness, intimidation of a witness, and obstruction of justice. In a rare move, Joyce was tried in absentia after fleeing the courthouse during a morning recess prior to jury selection. Joyce had been free pending his trial date after posting bond in the case. A sentencing hearing has been scheduled for May 5, 2016, though a bench warrant for Joyce’s arrest is still outstanding.

The case began on September 29, 2015, when Joyce twice went to the Salisbury home of a State’s witness in an unrelated case involving a friend of Joyce. Joyce threatened the witness by advising her that if she did not “drop the charges” and attempted to appear in court for trial that Joyce would make sure the witness did not make it to court. The witness called police and Joyce fled the area. The witness, however, did appear in court the very next day and testified against Joyce’s friend who was convicted of a misdemeanor offense. The witness was also able to identify Joyce to Salisbury Police officers after Joyce arrived in the courthouse in support of his friend who was on trial.

Wicomico County State’s Attorney Matthew A. Maciarello commended the Salisbury Police Department for their work in the investigation and prosecution of this case. Mr. Maciarello also thanked James L. Britt who prosecuted Joyce and Special Investigator Tracy Kilgore and Victim/Witness Coordinator Wayne Lowe for their assistance.

Why This Small Victory Could Make a YOOJ Difference For Ted Cruz

In an underreported story, North Dakota got together to apportion delegates this weekend, and Ted Cruz was the big winner. The Texas Senator received 18 of the states 25 pledged delegates. Why is this such a big win for Cruz?

This weekend, former Carson campaign manager and current Trump campaign adviser Barry Bennett bragged that Trump had a lock on North Dakota's delegates. As the Right Scoop noted:

Trump senior adviser Barry Bennett told NBC News that Cramer’s endorsement is “a huge win” for the campaign, and said he had “helped us immensely” to court delegates in North Dakota.

Cramer’s help, Bennett said, contributed to a slate of national delegates proposed by North Dakota GOP officials Saturday that the Trump campaign “loves.”

“We have seen the slate and we love it,” Bennett said. “If we play our cards right we could do very well” when the full convention votes on the slate of 25 proposed delegates on Sunday, he said.

Bennett wasn't just wrong, he was spectacularly wrong. Trump was massacred. This suggests two things: one, that Trump's reputation for hiring the best people is overstated: he is being beaten on the ground in nearly every situation where delegates are up for grabs. And two, that Ted Cruz, who many thought incapable of winning, is both well organized and incredibly resourceful.

For the record, here's how the votes broke down:

Governor Hogan Signs Landmark Climate Bill Into Law

ANNAPOLIS — At a ceremony in Annapolis, Governor Larry Hogan signed the landmark Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction Act of 2016 into law. The bill re-authorizes a 2009 Maryland law that established a target of cutting Maryland’s climate pollution levels 25 percent by 2020. Further, it sets an ambitious 2030 target of cutting pollution by 40 percent. These targets follow directly from recommendations made by the Maryland Commission on Climate Change, made up of cabinet secretaries, legislators, non-profit organizations, local governments and businesses. The bill passed through the Maryland legislature with bipartisan support.

Travis Madsen, State Climate Campaign Director for Environment Maryland, issued the following statement:

“Maryland hit a home run today with this new law. By acting on climate, we are protecting our communities, our health, our children and our future.

Thank you to Governor Hogan for acting today. Thanks to the members of the Maryland Commission on Climate Change for standing unanimously behind this bold step forward. Thank you to Senator Paul Pinsky and Delegate Kumar Barve for sponsoring the legislation. And thank you to all of the Marylanders who spoke up and asked for action on climate.

With this ambitious target now officially in place, our focus must now turn towards concrete actions to reduce global warming pollution. Those steps should include accelerating our transition to clean, renewable energy; developing our offshore wind energy resources; boosting energy efficiency; deploying more electric vehicles, and increasing zero-emission transportation options.

Finally, Maryland should support strengthening the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, an important regional program to reduce pollution from power plants. Cutting emissions by more than half by 2030 will help us get on course to achieve the ambitious goal that Governor Hogan signed into law today."

Maryland Mosque opens its doors to the faithful (Photos)

LANHAM, Md. — On a sprawling 16-acre site dotted with decorative fountains and Cypress trees, the Dyanet Center of America — also known as the Turkish American Cultural Center —brought a touch of Turkey to Lanham on Saturday.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan led dignitaries in dedicating the majestic complex, which includes a fellowship hall, traditional-style Turkish houses and a Turkish bathhouse. Not far from the local VFW hall, the domed mosque and minaret stand out on Good Luck Road, amid the condominium and apartment complexes.

“May this center bring prosperity to all the civilizations on the face of the earth and all the local communities in Maryland,” Erdogan said to a crowd of thousands of Muslims, some waving the red and white star and crescent flag of Turkey.

In his remarks, the visiting president condemned the “horror, pain and suffering” of terrorism.

“Terrorism will never have a religion, will never have a nation, will never have a nationality nor will it ever have a root or an ethnicity,” Erdogan said.

Is Trump About to Pull a Major Upset?

The Wisconsin Republican polls are getting closer just as voters make their way to the polling places today. The latest released data from one of the many pollsters surveying the Badger State electorate actually shows Donald Trump regaining the lead against Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX). But, is the American Research Group survey (4/1-3; 400 WI likely Republican primary voters) an outlier? Probably so, but others are detecting a momentum shift.

The ARG data suggests that Mr. Trump has surprisingly taken a 42-32-23% lead over Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Gov. John Kasich (R-OH), respectively. This is completely the opposite of numbers we saw last week: Fox News, 42-32-19% Cruz over Trump and Kasich, and Marquette Law School, 40-30-21%, again Cruz over Trump and Kasich. While it is certainly possible that Trump has regained some momentum, it is largely inexplicable that the Wisconsin race would have flipped so entirely in such a short amount of time.

We do have some further data that suggest Trump has momentum, however. The Emerson College Polling Society (3/30-4/3; 549 WI likely Republican primary voters) and CBS/YouGov (3/29-4/1; 675 WI likely GOP primary voters) find a closing of the race in the final days, but not to the degree of ARG. The Emerson College results are 40-35-21%, Cruz-Trump-Kasich, while CBS/YouGov finds a 43-37-18% split in the same order as Emerson.

Therefore, as we get closer to the actual Wisconsin vote, Trump continues to improve his standing so it is quite possible the actual results will be closer than last week’s trends projected.

But, the statewide ballot test is only relevant for the 15 at-large GOP delegates, because Wisconsin employs a Winner-Take-All by congressional district system for the remaining 24 delegates. The three RNC convention votes are also bound to the statewide vote. Unfortunately, none of the polls segmented their data by congressional district – and ARG’s statewide sample of 400 is too small to have given us an accurate district depiction, anyway – so it’s difficult to see where Trump is gaining the most momentum and how delegate apportionment is affected in the eight CDs that control the largest portion of Wisconsin’s 42-delegate allotment.

Fire-EMS Contract Ratified Amid Apparent Thaw In Negotiations On Schedule Change

OCEAN CITY — The Ocean City Mayor and Council on Monday ratified a new contract deemed a “placeholder” representing the last, best and final offer for the resort’s Fire/EMS union, although there appears to be a thaw somewhat in the impasse over proposed shift changes.

On Feb. 29, the clock expired on negotiations between the town and the Career Firefighter Paramedics Association of Ocean City, or IAFF Local 4269, on a new three-year contract, resulting in the town’s “last, best and final offer” essentially becoming the new contract by default. The negotiations broke down in late February over the town’s unwavering position of eliminating the paramedics’ long-standing 24 hour shifts.

Currently, most paramedics work in 24-hour shifts, followed by 72 hours off. However, citing a variety of reasons, including potential missed calls or delayed responses, the town is adamant about the elimination of the 24-72 shift rotation in favor of an alternative 12-hour shift or some hybrid of the two.

Sheriff's Deputy Vehicle Struck By Another Vehicle In Willards

There's been an accident in front of the Willards Fire Department. The person reporting it on the scanner was a bit panicked so it was hard to hear him but I think he said it involved a Sheriff's deputy. 2 vehicles involved. One of the persons involved is a WCSO Deputy. Both patients going to the hospital. Alcohol may be involved.

UPDATE: Sheriff's Deputy has bumps and bruises but will be fine.

Five Times Hillary Totally Failed on Social Media

The FBI is in the midst of a massive investigation of Hillary Clinton's emails. While the Bureau is conducting the investigation, their findings and recommendations will be passed on to the Department of Justice, who must make the final decision on whether or not to prosecute Hillary.

As the Daily Caller notes:

Clinton author Ed Klein says that if Hillary Clinton is not indicted, FBI Director James Comey and “a lot of other FBI agents” would resign as well in protest.

In an interview with Fox Business Network’s “Varney & Co” on Friday, Klein said, “I think Comey realizes that he’s got to wrap this [investigation] up well before the conventions otherwise he’s going to disenfranchise millions and millions of people. So I think this is going to be wrapped up in around six more weeks.”

Varney then asked Klein the obvious: would a Democratic administration actually indict the party's presidential frontrunner?

Varney then asked Klein, “But it’s up to the judgment of the Justice Department to say ‘yes indict’ or ‘No, don’t indict.’ It is not James Comey’s call, is it?“Well, it’s his call to make the referral and it’s up to the Justice Department. And if the Justice Department decides not to listen to what James Comey is suggesting, I think there’s going to be hell to pay.”

“Do you think James Comey would resign,” Varney asked.

“Yes, he already threatened to resign during the Bush Administration as you may recall when things did not go right,” Klein said. Adding, “Absolutely, I think he would resign and I think a lot of other FBI agents would go along with him.”

For months now, AAN has heard and relayed stories from within the intelligence community that have expressed frustration with the Obama administration's politicization of national security issues. If Klein is right, this may be the straw that breaks the camel's back.

Soldiers face prospect of paying rent for on-base housing

The Constitution’s Third Amendment is treated as an historical anachronism these days, but the drafters’ thinking seems to have been that members of the military ought to be housed on the government’s dime.

214 years later, at least some soldiers are faced with the odd prospect of having to pay rent in order to live on the Army bases that they’ve been assigned because of a complex brew of real estate financing mechanisms and military compensation legislation the founding fathers likely did not foresee.

At issue is the Residential Communities Initiative, under which 98 percent of the Army’s on-base family housing has been privatized since the project began in 1995. RCI and similar projects in the Air Force and Navy are widely regarded as some of the most successful public-private partnerships in the federal government’s recent history. They attracted private financing to replace dilapidated living quarters at a time when the military could not afford to do so. In exchange, developers were promised rental payments equal to a service member’s monthly Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH).

Why is Trump So Popular? These Numbers Reveal the Truth

The new employment numbers came in, and as doctored as they are, they're also extremely telling. As Breitbart reports:

The number of foreign-born people employed in the United States hit a record high in March, according to data released Friday by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

According to the BLS, 25,741,000 foreign-born people had a job in the U.S. last month, an increase of 246,000 over the previous high recorded in November. The unemployment rate among the foreign-born population was 4.8 percent.

The BLS statistics on the foreign-born do not distinguish between people who are in the country legally versus illegally. The agency’s data on foreign-born employment is available through 2005.

Meanwhile, the number of Americans NOT participating in the labor force expanded:

The number of Americans not participating in the workforce in March dipped again compared to the previous month but was still higher than it was a year ago, according to Labor Department data released Friday.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that 93,482,000 Americans were neither employed nor had made an effort to find employment in March.

March’s non-participation level continues a multi-month trend of decline after the number of people out of the workforce hit a record high of 94,610,000 in October — declining another 206,000 compared to February.

Take the statistics with a grain of salt. Some of these people are older Americans who are retiring baby boomers. Some of these people are welfare recipients who would prefer not to work at all, and some are likely ungrateful millennial brats who won't do the sort of menial jobs they believe are below their station in life. Still, the contrast is clear. While American workers face fewer and fewer opportunities in Obama's garbagefire economy, foreigners are doing quite well. Is it any wonder why Donald Trump is resonating with many Americans who have been told that they should be thrilled with a childhood tax credit and a low paying retail job that makes it nearly impossible to feed their family and retain any sense of pride?

One Random American DESTROYED Hillary Clinton

Hillary Clinton, she of the half a million dollar Goldman Sachs speeches and Clinton Foundation donations from foreign dictators, has been out on the campaign trail trying to pass herself off as a modern day Mother Jones. The New York millionaire, who probably counts many of these very individuals as some of her closest friends and donors, took to Twitter to rail against the one percent. With a screenshot and a comment, one random Facebook user demonstrated the hollowness of her entire farcical campaign:

F-35 Software Problems Detailed

The U.S. military’s frontline F-35 fighter jet continues to face problems with key software and related issues that are delaying operational deployment, according to the Pentagon’s senior weapons tester.

J. Michael Glimore, director of operational test and evaluation within the Office of the Secretary of Defense, told a House hearing last week that the F-35 — which is being built in three different versions for the Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps — is “at a critical time.”

“There are shortfalls in electronic warfare, electronic attack, shortfalls in the performance of distributed aperture system and other issues that are classified,” Mr. Gilmore said March 23. “With regard to mission assistance, stealth aircraft are not visible to achieve success against the modern stressing mobile threats. We’re relying on our $400 million investment in F-35 to provide mission systems [that] must work in some reasonable sense of that word.”

Mr. Gilmore testified that the F-35 system remains “immature” and “provides limited combat capability,” despite the Marines declaring their F-35s as having initial operating capability and the Air Force planning to do so later this year.

Libya Could Replace Syria and Iraq as Main Islamic State Hub

If attacks on Islamic State continue to weaken the group in Syria and Iraq, it could relocate its headquarters to Libya’s northern coastal town of Sirte, its Libyan headquarters since early spring 2015, an Israeli expert on Africa said on Sunday.

Prof. Yehudit Ronen, a leading expert on Libya and the African Sahel region at Bar- Ilan University, said the Syrian regime and Russia’s military victory in retaking the ancient city of Palmyra from Islamic State was a watershed defeat for the group.

“As Islamic State losses continue, the attractiveness of Libya as a rear and alternative base could gather momentum and become reality,” said Ronen, a political scientist and author of the acclaimed Qaddafi’s Libya in World Politics.

“Libya’s Mediterranean coast is a highly important strategic location for Islamic State, which it penetrated in 2014,” noted Ronen. “The organization is well aware that the coastal strip’s oil and gas-rich infrastructure and ports are turning Libya into an effective jump-off point to expand jihadist terror to the European continent.”

The unrest in Libya’s can be seen in the broader context of the jihadist plagued Maghreb and Sahel regions where terrorism is transversing borders, affecting governments from Algeria to Tunisia to Egypt, she continued.

Analysis: Prices of Top Drugs Spike

Higher prices for top-selling drugs meant they brought in more revenue in 2014 despite fewer prescriptions, according to an analysis from Reuters.

Sales for the 10 most prescribed drugs in the U.S. increased by 44 percent to $54 million in 2014 from 2011, according to the Reuters analysis that is based on data from research firm IMS Health.

The price for the top-selling U.S. drug, arthritis treatment Humira, was raised 126 percent from 2011 to 2014, Reuters found.

The No. 2 drug was Enbrel, which treats five inflammatory diseases that include psoriasis and arthritis. It had a price hike of 118.2 percent.

The findings come at a time when Congress is increasingly focused on the actions of several companies that have jacked up the price of drugs after acquiring them, but not major pharmaceutical firms such as AbbVie, which makes Humira.

Kellyanne Conway: ‘Trump and Cruz Locked in Arms’ Against Establishment ‘Parachute’ Convention Candidate

Sen. Ted Cruz PAC leader, president, and pollster Kellyanne Conway joined the Breitbart News Saturdayradio program with guest host and Washington political editor Matthew Boyle. Conway discussed the state of the Republican primary, with two strongly anti-establishment candidates leading the race heading into Tuesday’s Wisconsin primary.

Cruz has been surging in Wisconsin recently with the endorsement of the state’s Gov. Scott Walker and two new polls putting Cruz solidly in the lead over GOP delegate count frontrunner Donald Trump.

“Donald Trump’s campaign has had a really rocky week or so and it’s being reflected in the polls,” Conway said during the Saturday radio program on SiriusXM Patriot. “There’s been very little growth for Donald Trump I think over the last seven to ten days Matt. He gets those voters early and they stick with him, they’re very loyal, but the growth opportunity has been the non-Trump vote, not the Trump vote, of late.”

Boyle asked how the Cruz campaign is preparing to prevent the establishment from swooping in with a candidate that is neither of the top two candidates, Trump or Cruz.

Congress Investigating Obama Iran Deal

Congress is investigating whether the Obama administration has been offering concessions or rewriting the terms of the nuclear deal with Iran, reported the Washington Free Beacon.

"The gap between their promises on the Iran nuclear deal and today's scary reality continues to widen," said Rep. Mike Pompeo. "We are now trying to determine whether this was intentional deception on the part of the administration or new levels of disturbing acquiescence to the Iranians."
One issue is Secretary of State John Kerry's claim that ballistic tests were part of the deal, but the administration's later comments that they are outside the deal.

Hamid Bayeedinejad, Iran's director general for political and international security affairs at foreign ministry, said to Fars News Agency that their ballistic missile program is outside the ban.

Another issue centers around Treasury Department statements that suggest the U.S. is allowing Iran access to the U.S. financial system after Iran demanded it.

"The Obama administration is involved in yet another sleight of hand on sanctions relief as well as the status of U.N. missile sanctions," said Mike Dubowitz, executive director of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies.

Subject: COPS: Fields's BF Used Family Ties To Push Prosecution, Video Confirms Secret Service Report

New video evidence confirms that Michelle Fields was, in fact, told to back up by Secret Service during that infamous Trump rally in Jupiter, Florida.

GotNews.com has two different police sources that have told us that Michelle Fields’s boyfriend Jamie Weinstein and his family have been pushing Palm Beach County authorities to prosecute Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski.

Sources within Fox News and in the conservative commentariat claim that Weinstein is pushing them to cover the story in a way favorable to his girlfriend despite little evidence to substantiate her claims.

Supreme Court Deals Walmart a Blow in Class-action Case

The Supreme Court refused to hear an appeal by Walmart in a case involving a $187 million class-action judgment against the retailer over its treatment of workers in Pennsylvania.

Walmart had argued that the formula used to determine the penalty was unfair.

The justices denied the petition Monday, meaning the lower court's ruling will stand and Walmart will have to pay the penalty.

"We are disappointed the Supreme Court decided not to review our case. While we continue to believe these claims should not be bundled together in a class-action lawsuit, we respect the court's decision. We will now determine how we move forward in the trial court," said Walmart spokesman Randy Hargrove.

Chris Wallace: I Thought Michelle Fields ‘Completely Misrepresented’ Battery ‘Early On’

On this weekend’s broadcast of “Fox News Sunday,” while discussing Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s campaign manager Corey Lewandowski being charged with misdemeanor battery in an incident involving former Breitbart News reporter Michelle Fields at a Jupiter, FL campaign event on March 6, host Chris Wallace said he agreed with Trump’s assertion that Fields exaggerated the incident.

Partial transcript as follows:

TRUMP: Then when she wrote out, early on, before she knew she was on tape, that she was practically thrown to the ground. I wish I had it here. That didn’t happen. Okay? Do you agree with that?

WALLACE: I agree with you.

TRUMP: Excuse me. She lied. Do you agree she lied?

WALLACE: I think she completely misrepresented it early on. I do.

Carson: GOP 'willing to throw the election' to have Clinton beat Trump

Former Republican presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson is charging that the anti-Donald Trump GOP establishment is "willing to throw the election" and let Hillary Rodham Clinton win because they view her as easier to work with than the businessman.

"You see the Republican establishment willing to throw the election and give it to Hillary rather than have Mr. Trump in there, because they know that at least with Hillary, even though they have lots of disagreements, essentially she's one of them and they can continue with their positions and their power," Carson said in an interview with FastForward Magazine.

Carson told the student magazine that he believes both parties are corrupted by power.

And he said that the lesson he learned during his up and down presidential bid was that nobody can be trusted.

This Courageous Clinton Victim Won't Keep Quiet Any Longer

The woman whom Bill Clinton paid $850,000.00 to resolve claims he sexually assaulted hasn’t forgotten how treacherous the Clinton family is.

"The media is more worried about Trumps campaign manager holding back a stalker with force than they are about Hillary's true crimes and deceit!" Paula Jones posted on her personal Facebook page. "REALLY???"

Jones was an Arkansas state employee who, on May 8, 1991, was asked to meet with then-Governor Clinton in a Little Rock hotel room. There, she claims, he exposed himself to her and asked her to perform a sexual act.

She initially kept quiet, but later sued Clinton for sexual harassment. It was during the deposition phase of that suit that Clinton lied under oath about doing the same thing another employee, Monica Lewinsky.

This Brave American Hero Has a Message for ISIS

Barack Obama's outright denial of the Islamist threat that faces us should worry all Americans. But make no mistake- if you thought the brave men and women who stand between us and them are more ready than ever to exterminate ISIS. This week, Col. Steve Warren made that clear in a statement all patriotic Americans can get behind:

In a bold vow to hunt down one of the most wanted men on the planet, the spokesman for U.S. forces in Iraq told the Islamic State terror group's chief Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi his days as a free man were numbered.

“I hope that al-Baghdadi watches these press conferences because I want him to know that we are hunting him and we will find him just like we found his mentor Zarqawi and killed him. Just like we found the grand master of terrorism Usama bin Laden, we killed him," Col. Steve Warren told reporters.

"We are going to find Baghdadi, and he will taste justice. I don’t know if that justice will look like a hellfire missile or if it will look like a dark prison cell somewhere but he will find justice one day."

A U.S. airstrike in Iraq killed Abu Musab al-Zarqawi in 2006, five years before a U.S. raid killed Usama Bin Laden in Pakistan. Analysts say Zarqawi led the Al Qaeda faction that would ultimately become known as ISIS.

Warren says he believes Baghdadi is alive and continues to move between Iraq and Syria. “This is a terrorist that should not sleep well ever,” Warren added.

We hope Col. Warren and the brave men and women he serves alongside get the opportunity to send these savages straight to hell.

Will it be enough to help Trump get over the top?

Navy SEAL Admiral's Rare, Public Punishment

The career death of Rear Adm. Brian Losey, the Navy SEAL leader being forced to retire after his promotion was blocked in the Senate, marks the most public punishment ever at the top rank of the elite SEALs, who are known for running below the radar with their combat missions and internal business.

Even more tension between Congress and the SEALs may be looming. Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Alpine, said this week that he will oppose the nomination of Losey's replacement, Rear Adm. Tim Szymanski.

Hunter told The San Diego Union-Tribune that he has concerns about the incoming SEAL commander's past performance on contracting, training and acquisitions. He didn't elaborate on the alleged problems.

Concerns About Paul Ryan Emerging Out of Ted Cruz-Created Contested Convention as Nominee Dominate Wisconsin

In recent weeks, there has been increasing discussion about the possibility that House Speaker could emerge out of a brokered convention as the Republican nominee if the donor class is successful in denying Donald Trump the requisite 1,237 delegates.

Just as Paul Ryan’s ascension to House Speaker represented a total repudiation of the GOP electorate by GOP lawmakers, Ryan’s selection as the Party’s nominee would similarly represent the donor class’s silencing of voters and voters’ views on immigration, trade, and foreign policy that have transformed the country and its role in the world.

Regardless, many in the “#NeverTrump” movement have indicated that they would support Ryan against the wishes of the Republican electorate that has voted for Trump.

“If we don’t have a nominee who can win on the first ballot, I’m for none of the above,” said former House Speaker John Boehner, who exited the House shortly after teaming up with Ryan to give President Obama expanded trade powers. “I’m for Paul Ryan to be our nominee,” Boehner said.

“If it’s an open convention, it’s very likely [the nominee] would be someone who’s not currently running,” Ryan’s fellow Wisconsinite Governor Scott Walker said last week. Walker’s declaration follows an earlier pronouncement that he would be “just fine” with leaving his state’s Sanctuary Cities in place.

RNC Chair: Trump Has Brought in Millions of New Voters to Our Party

Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus said Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump has “brought in millions of new voters to our party.”

Partial transcript as follows:

DICKERSON: There’s been a lot of talk this would be about if Donald Trump is the nominee he would have special challenges in the general election with two groups, with women voters and then also with Hispanics. As somebody who cares about the health of the party how much of a challenge he is special challenge would Donald Trump be as the party nominee?

PRIEBUS: Well, look, every candidate has positives and every candidates have challenges that you have to overcome in general election. But the fact is Donald Trump also brought in millions of new voters to our party. We’re ahead of Democrats and registration. 70% turn out increase. Some of these things are historic for our party.Look at the Democrats, they’re in the ditch. What about Hillary Clinton, have you seen her numbers with women? Some of this stuff is pretty startling, I understand that we’ve got some drama in our side of the aisle that we’ll have to contend with we’ll be prepared to like never before. You look at the Democrats they’re in for a fiasco. Especially comes in indicts Hillary Clinton and have open convention, who knows, I’ve heard people talking about Joe Biden coming back into the fold. There is drama but we’re prepared and we’re going to win and we’re going to retake the White House in November.

Transcript: Donald Trump interview with Bob Woodward and Robert Costa

On Thursday, Donald Trump, with campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, press secretary Hope Hicks and son Donald Trump Jr., sat down at the soon-to-be-finished Trump International Hotel in Washington with reporters Bob Woodward and Robert Costa. Over the course of the discussion, the Republican front-runner made it clear that he would govern in the same nontraditional way that he has campaigned, tossing aside decades of American policy and custom in favor of a new, Trumpian approach to the world.

Here is a lightly edited transcript of the interview. Read the full story here.

BOB WOODWARD: And the real first question is, where do you start the movie of your decision to run for president? Because that is a big deal. A lot of internal/external stuff, and we’d love to hear your monologue on how you did it.

DONALD TRUMP: Where do you start the movie? I think it’s actually — and very interesting question — but I think the start was standing on top of the escalator at Trump Tower on June 16, which is the day — Bob, you were there, and you know what I mean, because there has. . . . I mean, it looked like the Academy Awards. I talk about it. There were so many cameras. So many — it was packed. The atrium of Trump Tower, which is a very big place, was packed. It literally looked like the Academy Awards. And . . . .

MARYLAND’S VIETNAM VETERANS TO BE CELEBRATED

“Welcome home.” Not many Americans who served in Vietnam heard those words when their tours of duty ended and they came home. As the conflict escalated, casualties mounted and costs rose, the anti-war protests increased in number and intensity. In fact, when 250,000 people gathered in Washington, D.C., in 1969 to call for the U.S. to withdraw troops from Vietnam, it was the largest anti-war protest in the nation’s history.

Against this backdrop, there was no heroes’ welcome for Vietnam veterans. Instead, they were met with little acknowledgment and in some cases, even anger or contempt, fueled by a perception that American soldiers had lost the war or caused the deaths of Vietnamese civilians.

Maryland Public Television (MPT) aims to rectify that oversight with MPT Salutes Vietnam Veterans, a multi-million dollar, multi-faceted celebration of those who served during the Vietnam War. A three-hour documentary, Maryland Vietnam War Stories, will air on MPT in one-hour segments on three successive nights, May 24, 25, and 26. The film features veterans representing each branch of the armed forces, as well as medics and corpsmen, nurses, helicopter pilots, and the widow of a downed pilot, among others.

Peace out, fools! Obama plays the clown by flashing the peace sign for nuclear security summit 'team photo'

Surrounded by world leaders, President Barack Obama gave the peace sign as they gathered for a 'team photo' during a two-day nuclear summit.

All eyes were on Obama as 54 other presidents and prime ministers joined him in Washington, DC, for crunch talks on Iran and terrorist threats involving nuclear weapons.

There was one set of eyes, however, that was particularly focused on the President - those of Prime Minister David Cameron.

Relations between Cameron and Obama have been strained since the President criticized the Prime Minister for getting 'distracted' during the crisis in Libya and turning it into a 's**t show'.

There was more than metaphorical distance between the pair at today's summit, with Cameron only able to glare at Obama from across the podium as he was elbowed out to the edge of the stage.

This Is How You Get Fired in the Obama Administration

When Barack Obama isn't censoring mention of Islamic terrorism, he's firing those who tell him just how bad it is:

Two top intelligence analysts at U.S. Central Command say they were kicked out for producing negative reports on Syrian rebel groups backed by the Obama administration.

Sources close to these analysts told The Daily Beast that they were actively targeted by military leadership for not delivering a glowing report on U.S. progress in the war against the Islamic State, The Daily Beast reports.

It appears the military has had enough of analysts complaining to the media about their bosses manipulating intelligence reports. More than 50 anonymous CENTCOM analysts have previously voiced concerns about reports being fiddled with to show absurdly successful outcomes against ISIS. Now, military officials are ready to seek out these analysts and remove them from their positions.

Apparently, the great sin of the two senior analysts is that they neither trusted rebel commitment to U.S. strategic objectives, nor trusted their abilities to carry out the objectives.

Democratic societies flourish on the basis of information. Repressive societies silence those whose version of events doesn't comply with the dictator's preferred narrative. The purpose of national security advisors is not to flatter the president, but to provide him with detail oriented explanations that help him make the best decisions as commander in chief. One would think that community organizer with no foreign policy experience whatsoever would understand his own limitations and trust these advisors.

One would be wrong.
