WASHINGTON — A student is facing assault charges after a student protest of the election of Donald Trump to the presidency turned violent Wednesday.
Hundreds of students from Richard Montgomery High School were carrying signs reading, “Love Trumps Hate,” and chanting near the Rockville courthouse on Maryland Avenue in a protest that began at about 10 a.m. when a 15-year-old boy wearing one of the Trump campaign’s “Make American Great Again” hats was attacked by about four students.
The group surrounded the teen, punching him repeatedly, then threw him to the ground and kicked him repeatedly in the ribs. It is not yet clear what led up to the incident, but Maj. Michael English with Rockville police said the victim was not the aggressor.
“They jumped him and beat him up pretty bad,” Max Stucky, a bystander who witnessed the attack, told WTOP.
The teen, who wasn’t seriously hurt, was seen clutching the back of his head in pain. He was helped to his feet by medics and taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

i blame the school for allowing them to do the protest everyone of them should be expelled for a week
ReplyDeleteWho printed all these nice signs for the protests?
ReplyDeleteThe teachers union?
Let the chicken s..t protesters come over to the Eastern Shore and try that. If they live after trying that over here, they can go back and tell everyone over there not to try that. Our cities have become a socialist quagmire that is hell-bent on the Obama fueled "fundamental" change of America. THIS is just part of Obama's legacy. He has torn this country apart. Trump is going to be the healer, but the cities don't want to be healed. Like Obama did to the rest of us, Trump is going to have to force change on the cities.
ReplyDeleteThe Board of Education and the school's administration will be sued, and rightly so.
ReplyDeleteThey should also be docked every day they allow this and every test scheduled for these days should all be graded E /F and not rescheduled.
ReplyDeleteThey will probably grade this as a History field trip.
ReplyDeleteso who are the violent ones say it isnt so they cant even figure it out that the protesters are the ones with problems of HATE
ReplyDeleteThe school administration should be removed. The kids are out there to get out of going to class and to goof off with friends..the kids should be made to stay home until they can return to school without acting up..let the stupid parents sweat it out for a few days. The parents who are encouraging thier kids should be made to go to truancy court for the days they missed. The local and state police, school board should have ended this last week..shameful and typical of lefties near DC.
ReplyDeleteWell, the cat's out of the bag now! It's obvious who the "haters" are.
ReplyDeleteWhy in the name of heaven would a HIGH SCHOOL let kids out to protest in the first place? They are too young to vote so why aren't they sitting in the classroom actually learning something besides protests, riots, and beatings?? This school principle and the school district should be held accountable for this stupid display.
ReplyDeleteWhy not keep the kids in the classroom with an actual history teacher teaching them about presidential elections, the reasons behind them, the electoral college, and not everyone's party wins all the time and how to understand it is law and how to peacefully accept the outcomes.
Keep on sending the kiddies to public schools......where Liberalism is God.
