Major networks and their advertisers are stunned by the massive beat down the NFL has taken in ratings this season — something that isn’t really all that much of a shock to those who’ve been keeping up with the Colin Kaepernick shenanigans.
The San Francisco 49ers quarterback decided at the beginning of the season to protest inequality in America by first sitting, then kneeling, during the National Anthem.
His actions have spread far and wide across the world of professional sports, as overpaid athletes have jumped on the social activism bandwagon — likely as a means of looking cool and relevant — following Kaepernick’s example.
However, these actions have not been well received by football fans — a fact that is no doubt playing a role in the decline of this season’s National Football League ratings.

Probably has more to do with people finally realizing the NFL isn't football, it's sports entertainment like the WCW. Too many penalties, replays, weak 1 yard running plays, predetermined outcomes oh and don't forget the commercials commercials commercials and all of the commercialization. All about money, nothing about sports.
ReplyDeleteI for one refuse to watch football this season based on this. I'm glad to see so many others have chosen to do the same.
ReplyDeleteMe too joe ...
DeleteI can't watch my team or any until this is over. It might never be over. I just don't feel right about watching some of the luckiest people in America complain.
Delete100% agree.
DeleteI'm with you, Joe.
ReplyDeleteI'm not even going to watch the playoffs or the Super Bowl, which were my main objectives every year. I'll catch the SB commercials after the fact.
They can kneel and posture all they want, but I won't be watching them do it.
As an afterthought, I wonder how many of the big ticket Super Bowl advertisers are rethinking their ads or even rethinking advertising at all. Maybe this is the year that the Bowl gets flushed.
ReplyDeleteI'm also with you Joe,msm keeping low numbers quiet basically taking up for the America haters.
ReplyDeleteI haven't nor will I watch a game...superbowl included
ReplyDeleteThe Shield is only as strong as its customers. Make the customers angry...oh boy Roger- Mr. #44 Million per year!!!
ReplyDeleteRemember the football strike a few years ago? I, nor any of my friends committed suicide. Any team that has a player that disrespects the flag well not see these eyes watching. Plus, I know which bathroom to use!
ReplyDeleteI'm a football fan and not a football player fan. i'm not letting the antics from a few players that in a few months or a year no one will remember keep me from the game.
ReplyDeleteI, too, refuse to watch football this year. However, I read a clip today that Coach Chip Kelly of the 49'ers is considering moving Colin into the starting spot..... Hmmmmm Just 2 weeks ago I read that he was an outsider looking in, and wouldn't be part of the team for much longer. And, now, he's being considered as the starting QB. I've had it completely with professional football, coast to coast, border to border. I'm done, period.
ReplyDeleteI watch college and high school and the minute I see it there I will quit watching that as well. I get NFL gear every year as gifts I told the family no more. You know what NFL stands for anyway.
ReplyDeleteMy Ex wife stole my TV when she deserted me>>>> years ago...never bought another tv..not watching football either...
ReplyDeleteI find more time for my wife since I stopped watching football this year.
ReplyDeletethe last straw for me was when Martin OweMalley "convinced" the Ravens to take $100K to shill for ObamaCare!
