Joe, as you know I work at night. It is Really dangerous to drive and the roads are flooded here in Salisbury. Ken
ReplyDeleteWhy is it so hard for people to understand not to drive through deep water?
ReplyDeleteA shout out to Delmarva Power guys. Our power went out at midnight and I watched them out in the deluge working to restore it. Thanks! I do not know how the do it between the rain and lightening strikes!
ReplyDeleteYou would understand if you saw there paycheck! You would be doing the same things...
DeleteCivic and Belmont ALWAYS floods. The east side street were rivers. My back yard is now a pond.
ReplyDeleteI think that is great how the fire dept helps out with flooded basements. I honestly did not think that was done anymore.
ReplyDelete7:37 from what I saw and have seen in the past, they deserve it.
ReplyDeleteI have seen them in the most horrible storms out there trying to turn our power back on.
For some reason our neighborhood always ends up in the dark.
E Side, Sby.
Wonder if RT13 and Baltimore Ave is flooded, have seen water 3' deep there before.
ReplyDeleteOh now we're happy to have the fire department help us when we need them, but if they take the fire truck to get Rita's "FIRE THEM ALL"
ReplyDeleteso much for the new bridge that kept Nanticoke rd closed for months. it had at least 4in of water flowing g across it this morning
ReplyDeleteWhat do they do with a flooded basement?
ReplyDeleteFire Dept only responds when an electrical hazard is present with a flooded basement. They can pump it out and get the electric turned off.
Delete859, where I am from, the volunteer companies will pump it out for you. However I am from the land of basements and most have sump pumps, but sometimes, the pumps would fail due to power outages etc. It is a kind thing to do.

ReplyDeleteUsually they get called for a flooded basement. What usually is the case is it is an electrical hazard to have all that water where there is electric. What they usually do is turn off the electric. Sometimes they will pump it out however I doubt last night they had time to do anything and it would have just flooded again today.
I would say they earned their wages that night.
