A Maryland prosecutor said he hopes to expand the use of interlock devices to cover gaps in a new law that expanded their use.
John McCarthy, the Montgomery County state’s attorney, said this week that prosecutors in the Washington suburb will be asking judges to order the use of interlocks even in cases in which first-time offenders can avoid a conviction by agreeing to a term of probation.
What’s more, McCarthy said his prosecutors might go further — perhaps asking that judges order their use in cases where alcohol has not led to a DUI but has fueled criminal behavior, such as domestic violence.

Well i better start seeing these hypocritical politicians getting locked up DUI aka a couple of beers law is BS .
ReplyDeleteSINCE WHEN DO PROSECUTORS MAKE LAWS? STICK TO LETTING THUGS OUT ON MAJOR CRIMES.
ReplyDeleteHow many more OTHER behaviors will they find to put the "safety devices" on more and more cars?
ReplyDeleteDon't laugh. These are the people that thought taxing the rain was a great idea.
It's probably the same people who told us Nazi checkpoints would ONLY be used to catch drunk drivers. Thats all. Just catch drunk drivers. uh huh.
Are they the same ones who also said that seat belt violations would ONLY be SECONDARY violations and we need not worry about the police pulling us over for "just" a seat belt issue?
Even Ray Charles could see that there's a pattern here.
Be careful what you cheer for.....
Never mind.
Keep cheering.
So how much stock does he have in the interlock company?
ReplyDelete9:49 That's a great question....
ReplyDeleteIf your no good ass gets behind the wheel and drives drunk and gets caught, then your no good ass should have an interlock device. No sympathy. None.
ReplyDeleteMore money for the state
ReplyDeleteI think that he should just go ahead and recommend that ALL Maryland registered vehicles have to have an interlock device in order to get tags. Now THAT would stop drunk driving, and even drinking while driving. Oh, and put it on the prosecutor's car first.
