Felton woman gets 2 years for role in food assistance card theft scheme
A Felton woman received a two-year prison term for her role in the theft of federal funds from an aid program providing money for food benefits.
Joellen Edwards, 62, pleaded guilty to Theft and Official Misconduct charges.
Edwards was one of seven former employees of the Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) responsible for issuing Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards arrested and indicted earlier this year.
The cards under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) replaced the food stamp program.
Have seen things as a cashier, like a person paying with a maryland card then paying the rest with a Delaware card.Seen the same combination with VA MD DE and PA. Also having two to three cards in different people's names saying they are thier roommates.obviously not. Have to call manager when this happened.
There seem to be a lot of black women in Maryland and Delaware who steal from the mouths of the poor and hungry. These are people who are put in positions of the public trust, yet can't be trusted.
Where is the Reparations ?
