  4. Flood insurance is from the Fed. Government--you just pay through insurance companies--the insurance fund is completely broke btw as most government programs are

  10. It was not a normal storm.
    The sky had more water than normal.
    I believe the airplane trails help to hold water in the sky.
    This makes bigger rains.

    Something should be done about the airplanes.
    Less pollution would be a big help.

  14. @9:44 I completely agree. There was a lot of unusual activity at Dover AFB prior to the storm too - notice how they aren't making any comment on the weather.

    You must be too young to remember the Snow Hill flood on August 20, 1989. The river crested a little higher back then, than it did this past weekend. What I find interesting is that the water may go around the bridge during times of flooding, but it never goes over the bridge.

  16. There's still a car in the water that some moron tried to take through the water by the Down Under Restaurant. On Saturday, the water was still halfway up the driver's side window.
