  2. What is happening to this county ? I've commented about roaring point park in the past , this place is nothing more than a hang out for young deranged people. Who is responsible for enforcing the law or rules that are posted .
No drinking , all trash cans are full of beer bottles , wine and whiskey.
Used diapers all around the parking lot and beach . This morning there was a white sink someone had dropped off. Mr. Culver what the hell are you doing besides selling property in White Haven .
Nanticoke Harbor is about the same condition and the old sefood plant across the harbor is an eye sore and a mess , Mr Culver , what the hell are you doing ?

  3. 7:36 I totally agree with you. Not only is it more expensive, the selection has gone way down.

  5. Did something upset you?

Yes......when there is a sign placed on the service pole out front of my yard advertising a yard sale on another street.
The sale goes on and the sign stays until the rain or wind causes the sign to end on my previously groomed lawn.
If you are rude enough to place a sign on property not belonging to you, have enough respect or be courteous enough to remove it after you reap the benefit of selling your wears.

  6. 8:09- I bet those newspapers with the green plastic sit in your yard until they dissolve. Eat a snickers sir/mam you're not you when you're hungry

  7. I agree with the comments about Acme. I went there last night for the first time and I was very disappointed. It is another Food Lion which I don't like. The shelves were not stocked and the choices were slim. Their brand or no brand. I will be honest I will try some things that are their brand but there are others I prefer over a no name brand. I did not save any money.

  9. 7:56- You should be quiet. You have no idea what you are talking about because the comment you responded to was referring to Roaring Point Park. Not the campground. How is it even possible to not realize this? Wow

  11. On the subject of the Acme store - I am very, very disappointed in this store. It is absolutely nothing like the Acme store of old, which I shopped at all the time. I don't know who can afford to shop there , their prices are ridiculously high. I used to buy a lot of their brand, Lancaster, but hardly saw any of that brand at all. I also used to buy Lucerne brand at Safeway, not Acme, however, they have Lucerne brand in there. I really don't know about this store other than if they don't come down on their prices, it will sit there and eventually go out of business.

  14. Be careful at Fruitland Wal-Mart's self check out when paying with cash. Yesterday I was in a hurry in grabbing my change I was supposed to get $9.53 change and I got $4.53. They corrected it but then it took twice as long to get out of the store.

You are color blind, the papers are orange and they do sit on the yard until my family gets here to remove them. Difficult for me to do so with my disability.
If you get a charge out of my comment, look for it again next week. Being I don't eat Snickers, you know what you can do with them. :)

  16. The Acme in Easton is much much better. Large selection and always clean and fully stocked. Hopefully Acme here in Salisbury will get better. Until they do, I have a membership at BJ'S wholesale in Millsboro which is only 30 miles away. I go there for a better selection. The choices in Salisbury and the surrounding area are horrible. The residents here deserve better than what we are getting.

  17. 11:01 Do you think BJs is better than Sams club?

  18. 10:48- are you sure you are not color blind as well? The paper is gray, the bag they are in can be orange or green.

  19. I'm off my diet for the next 4 days. Why? Sunfest of course. 4 days of eating things fried, drinking different types of beverages and most of all - PEOPLE watching! One last opportunity to see people of all shapes, sizes and ages here down the ocean hon!

    Then recover for 2 weeks!!!!!!

(psst - 1 day to TGIF!!!!)

Definitely!!!! The prices are about the same, but the service and selection is better and everything is very fresh! I haven't been back to Sam's Club in over 5 years! Last time I went, I stood in a long line with just two registers open for over an hour. I had frozen food and it was a ninety degree day. I complained to the the manager and then wrote a letter to corporate. I got a response back and said they are trying. I told them this had happened more than once. Bad enough you have to pay a membership, and then get walmart service!!!! BJ's only checks your card at checkout, not when you come into the store like Sam's club. No sales tax either because you are in Delaware!

  21. 11:53 I'm not 11:01 but I do like BJS better than Sams Club. I go to the one in Millsboro. I like that they have a full Deli and the prices at the deli are great! There is also Giant & Harris Teeter about 10-15 minutes away in Long Neck. The Food Lion near Giant and Harris Teeter is one that is changing to a Weis Market. Looks like I will be going to Delaware to do my shopping. There is also a Reddners Market in Georgetown that is not bad, but the Walmart in Georgetown is very small and limited on the selection. How is it they have so many grocery stores and Salisbury can't keep a decent one.

    ReplyDelete
  22. ...and 11:53, no tax, they issue BJ's coupons and change/update them monthly. They also accept manufacturer's coupons. Sam's offers none of the above.

  23. 12:14, I am 11:01
    Thanks for the heads up!!!
I will definitely check out these grocery stores.
Salisbury has a larger population, but poor choices!!!
I drive to Annapolis once a month to shop at whole foods and Trader Joes as well. Food is all natural and non gmo!
The residents of Salisbury and the surrounding area definitely deserve better!

  24. Regarding Acme: As of last Sunday, they have no way of telling who is next at the deli counter because they took away the numbered tags. With so may employees standing around conversing in small groups, you'd think someone in management would hand a pad and pen to one of their staff and position them at the deli counter to hand out numbers until the problem is rectified.

  25. Roaring point beach, The Cove Beach, The harbor.....hell... the whole Westside has gone to hell. You try to drive down streets in Tyaskin/Bivalve and you are the one who has to go off road to continue on your route as the mud puddle teens that live down there anymore have no cooth and try to look gangster but only look dirty. Drive down Wetipqin Rd. and you have to be very careful because who knows where the skinny dope head woman has passed out.

  26. Why do buses stop at every other house? Can't they condense the stops?
Here goes, when I was a kid they would not even bother coming down our short road and all of us had to go to the corner to catch the bus and walk to our houses.

I kid you not the bus stopped 5 times and it was every other house

  28. Why have a craft beer festival or Autumn Wine Festival at Pemberton park, when you know the revenue enhancement offices will be waiting by the exit to stop you and charge you with drunk driving? Seems like a win win for the state and county. County gets revenue for the festival, and the state and county get additional revenue in thousands when they stop you and charge you for drunk or buzzed driving!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looks like a trap and a raw deal to me!!!! Better off sampling at home!

  29. I agree avoid the Deli at Acme can't understand why they took away the number system. I feel sorry for the employee's working back there. Also disappointed they aren't making the Rotisserie Chicken Salad that Giant had it was the bomb. Acmes' chicken salad has no flavor.

  31. Being a resident of the westside area I do not understand why the trash is not being picked up properly. Earlier in the week I saw at least 3 parks vehicles near the Sports Complex near Cedar Hill Marina. With 3 vehicles and that many people every area down here should be clean.

  32. we have a lot of nice parks in Wicomico but they are not maintained properly and restroom situations are deplorable
