ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — The Maryland Department of Natural Resources is proposing rules aimed at banning spear-hunting for big game.
The agency says in a statement it’s accepting public comments through Oct. 17 on a proposal to add regulatory language stating that only the weapons listed in the regulations may be used for deer and black bear hunting.
Those weapons are bows and firearms, including a powerful new type of air gun that shoots full-sized arrows.

It's not the governments business how I harvest my food. It's not the governments business to require me to pay for a license for the privilege of EATING it either.
ReplyDeleteDave T: Odd and funny how all I ever hear about any more is "more regulations for this and more regulations for that." I'm just wondering, when is any useful legislation that has actual meaning going to get passed? You know, for things like, balancing our budget, prosecuting insurance fraud, stopping wasteful spending and over taxation?
ReplyDeleteMore laws made by ignorant bureaucrats. Way back in 1804 Lewis & Clark (remember them?) set off on their journey equipped with a Giradoni air rifle, developed in 1779, and one of the most powerful and deadly rifles of the era. It fired(?) multiple .46 caliber balls as fast as the trigger could be pulled. Lewis & Clark demonstrated it to almost every native tribe they encountered. If an air rifle was good enough then why is a much improved modern version not good enough for the poltroons of the State government?
ReplyDeleteBan anything that you could protect yourself with.....The Clintons will ensure we are all gassed like Hitler did to the Jews
ReplyDelete@1:55 it is when people are baiting game animals, hunting without a license, overharvesting, endangering others by hunting too close to residences. I would like my grandkids to be able to hunt as I did. Safely and responsibly. While you may be a safe and responsible hunter yourself, we both know there are many who aren't.
ReplyDeleteThen use state resources already present to combat these people. All things you presented already have a law.
DeleteAll right people stop all the small talk and let us discuss the elephant in the room. How will Black people get deer if they outlaw spear hunting. I am concerned we have not heard a peep out of BLM.
ReplyDeleteNow that is funny I dont care who you are.
Well, I guess that I won't be using my trebuchet anymore.
ReplyDeleteI hate maryland, more rules, as#holes
