Folks, I do not need to add a single word to this…other than it came to me through a retired military email network. You need to read it.
Commissioner,
I’ve been a season pass holder at Yankee Stadium, Yale Bowl and Giants Stadium.
I missed the ’90-’91 season because I was with a battalion of Marines in Desert Storm. 14 of my wonderful Marines returned home with the American Flag draped across their lifeless bodies. My last conversation with one of them, Sgt Garrett Mongrella, was about how our Giants were going to the Super Bowl. He never got to see it.
Many friends, Marines, and Special Forces Soldiers who worked with or for me through the years returned home with the American Flag draped over their coffins.
Now I watch multi-millionaire athletes who never did anything in their lives but play a game, disrespect what brave Americans fought and died for. They are essentially spitting in the faces and on the graves of real men, men who have actually done something for this country beside playing with a ball and believing they’re something special! They’re not! My Marines and Soldiers were!
You are complicit in this!

Well said , it has become a black thing now , what a bunch of crap for low life ball players. It's nothing more than blacks disrespecting our country.
ReplyDeleteI too have fought for our nation , these muslims need to go.
What a wonderful letter, I couldn't agree with him more.
ReplyDeleteGreat letter---Hope it circulates
ReplyDeleteall over the World!!
I'm sick & tired of hearing about
all this silly conflict. There is
good/bad in every color, so let it
be when you concern the entire U.S.
in the matter.
And here is a group of veterans who signed a letter in SUPPORT of Mr. Kaepernick:

Hello troll, I see you got a weekend pass! Back to the Pokey on Monday?
DeleteBut yet every Joe will keep dutifully watching the NFL every time a game is on rather than use their right to watch something else. Boycott the NFL starting today.
ReplyDeleteI am ashamed of team players like these, they are paid millions, treated like movie stars, don't have to abide by things real Americans have paid for this country. They need to be deported they are the real deplorables.
ReplyDeleteThe veterans who support this guy were nothing more than pencil pushers in the
ReplyDeletein the coast guard.
ReplyDeleteAll professional sports owners have control over what they allow their employees to do when 'at work'. All of this disrespect is occurring with their 'silent approval'.
I know where the 'off switch' is on the TV, and my 'off switch' extends to advertisers I might be doing business with.
It is time for Congress to revoke the NFL's anti-trust exemption.
Thoroughly disgusted!
ALL taxpayer funded benefits the teams or player benefits from should be canceled immediately for any team displaying disrespect for our country and what it stands for. The players can follow Barbara Streisand's exit from America.
ReplyDeleteThey are not disrespecting the flag or those of us who fought under it. They are protesting the way blacks have been treated since they came to this country, and we crackers should be ashamed of it. Too bad the native Americans were not protected better as well.
ReplyDeleteYou're an idiot. Protest or not if you don't stand at attention for the flag and anthem then you are being disrespectful.

ReplyDelete4:47 You are incorrect.
Games begin with a salute to our national flag and with our national anthem, The Star Spangled Banner. Protocol dictates how those in attendance should behave in the scant moments required.
The original instigator and his mindless followers dishonor themselves, and that dishonor will follow them.
Everyone knows we are and have been an imperfect nation, if for no other reason than we're composed of imperfect humans. But we have continued to strive to be better 'imperfect' humans and we've continued to strive to improve our 'imperfect' nation.
Just imagine how much good the instigator could have accomplished if he'd just donated to someone in need what he spent on tattoos!
They have no problem taking advantage of all the free benefits they are given and the players will wear that flag on their Jersey's so they can collect that paycheck. I say let them continue to sit on the bench, during the entire game. They probably sit to pee also. Bunch of nitwits.
ReplyDeleteAlso, maybe they should put on a different helmet and go out and defend the country that seem to hate. Let them fight of a country instead of a ball.
ReplyDeleteMaybe all of you should retake civics class. I know these youngins today don't take it but you should all know better. This country wasn't formed because everyone has to think the same thing, walk the same way, eat the same thing. The reason why we have a Constitution, Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence has a lot to do with the freedom of self expression. So because he is black he isn't allowed that right? Only white folks who are the originators of everything can protest? Your being contradictory of the very documents you claim to hold so near and dear. His protest is his right! His right! It's the reason this country was created. England wasn't having any types of free thought, protest, free speech, freedom of religion, etc. Absolutely none of it. So a group of folks jumped shipped and set sail......I hope you know the story from there. Sweet Jesus, the lack of intelligence and basic knowledge of American History is down right scary. He can protest how he feels, as you can protest how you feel. Never mind the fact you are all focused on the flag and the anthem (written by a pro-slavery dude), not his actual issue. Jesus has to be in awe at the nonsense of this country right now. We are seriously a country of idiots. Very vocal idiots at that. A country of people who have totally forgotten American History totally.
ReplyDeleteAmen to the letter. Just because we have the right to not stand for the flag or the National Anthem. There are better ways to disagree with inequality. I agree with the marine. I think we should all boycott the NFL. That means not going to games. Not watching games on television. And not buying or wearing NFL apparel. This always hits them where it hurts. In the pocketbook. You see it had a definite effect on Target. I am a patriot and an American and stand proudly with tears in my eyes every time the National Anthem is played. And I don't think it is too much to ask of a athlete to stand for our flag and National Anthem especially when they are getting 20 million dollars a year to play ball. What do they even no about inequality making that much money. They should stand and thank God they are in a free country where they make that kind of money. Spoiled brats all of them.
