Davis criticizes Freddie Gray officers' appearance at gala

BALTIMORE —Baltimore Police Commissioner Kevin Davis criticized Wednesday a decision by three officers who had been charged in the Freddie Gray case to make an appearance at a gala last week.

Lt. Brian Rice, and Officers Edward Nero and Garrett Miller, were honored by the conservative media group Media Research Center. Davis said he doesn't condone their appearance.

"I look at this as an opportunity to take a look at our policy to make sure it is stringent enough that will preclude police officers from engaging in that type of off-duty activity," Davis said. "I was certainly disappointed by their appearance there, and any time a person in public safety appears for or with a group that society looks at as a fringe group, and the group is divisive and doesn't speak to the values of Baltimore, I think that's a problem."

  2. Davis shove it where the sun doesn't shine! The panderer doesn't say a thing about the liars and thugs who support the BLM or the liars running around like morons saying hands up don't shoot. Davis needs to criticise the ones who are running around that city blowing each other's brains out instead of worrying what the officers who have Gods arms around them are doing.

  3. The whole charging these officers was based on Mosby lies. Never has this POS Davis criticized her actions. Never did he criticize her using the innocent officers to promote herself. Never has he said what these officers had gone through is the real and the only tragedy. To hell with him and to hell with that city and the filth that inhabits it. The Good Lord IS showing them He won't stand for their wicked evil lying way one thug at a time.

  4. Better to attend a gala by an organization that "appears fringe" than to work for a city that IS fringe.

"Appears Fringe" to whom? The overwhelmingly minority citizens of Baltimore City? People who leech off the system? People who are responsible for the vast majority of crimes? People who have no respect for the society that we live in? Those people?

As it stands I wont go to any major city on the East Coast right now or the foreseeable future. You could could carpet bomb Baltimore into oblivion and I wouldn't miss it or the people that live there.

  9. Where is their free speech when not on duty as long as they are not professing to represent Baltimore Police Department and they expressing their views? This idiot is violating the Officers constitutional rights. The same as all the Baltimorans accused the Officers of violating Gray's and paid his family millions of tax payers dollars without a trial.
