Only touron fools would head to OC considering the oncoming storm. Go ahead and drive thru that saltwater overwash and watch what happens to your car in a year. Hope nobody hurt.
The car was T boned into the N side of the bridge taking out the fence and pipe railing. A couple of blonds were walking around the car apparently unhurt.
I wish that SPD would become serious about the speeds of drivers over the bridge. We sometimes fish on the bridge and see cars going 60 on those narrow lanes approaching and leaving OC.

unmarked = speed traps also. if they wanted people to slow down, and not be the revenue generators we know they are, they would patrol in marked units in plain sight, versus hiding behind bushes and signs. but we know what their real goal is and it's not about safety
@3:05, the vehicle crashed through the fencing, directly where people stand there and fish. Not exactly sure how they did it, or that I want to fish there from now on. I know the guy that has a contract with SHA to fix the fencing when there is an accident on that bridge. He's been there at least 6 times already this summer. Good for his business, but scary there are so many idiots on the road!!

ok but fishing didn't cause any problems. the people who can't drive or drive carelessly cause any problems. there may be a possibility for something bad to happen to someone fishing there because of a vehicle, but there is a possibility for something bad to happen to anyone when they leave their house. the nanny state can't protect everyone nor should it. people should have the option of choosing what they want, or don't want to do, when and where they want to do it.
AlL clear sha cams shows traffic moving.

ReplyDeletePretty sure that would be MSP or OCPD
DeleteDo you mean MSP or OCPD? There's often a trooper sitting at the end of the bridge pulling speeders over.
Delete1037 I think fishing should be banned from the bridge. Causes problems always has.
DeleteCity Hall wishes the picture you had on this story was true (clear blue skies with lots of cars entering the city.
ReplyDeleteSorry City Hall...no wishes for you!!

Can you imagine how much money a speed camera would generate on that bridge?

ReplyDeleteSpeed cameras must be located near schools. Schools of fish don't qualify! :)

What problems? I have never heard of anyone fishing on that bridge, behind a chain link fence no less, causing any problems.
