That is Denali. On the highway outside of Anchorage in the town of Eagle River you can see that peak 290 miles away. It would be the equivalent of standing on the beach at Assateague and seeing a mountain in Hagerstown.
Yup, eastershore, lots of horrible chicken smells, trash on the streets and yards, welfare rats, loads of apartment building, empty busineses, drugs, whores, minimum wage jobs, yup, good old easternshore.

You would be hard pressed to find a place that didn't have those things you mention. In fact, I think it would be impossible. But let me be the first to encourage you to go try to find such a place.
People always piss and moan and complain about this area, but offer no solutions, do anything to make it better, or LEAVE and not be subject to the things they don't like.
You missed one thing on your 'list', chronic complainers. You can even be the president of that club. I hereby nominate Dave T. for president. Anyone wish to second that motion?
Beautiful, love it!
ReplyDeleteYou can't find an ocean in the mountains, either.
ReplyDeleteThink about all the people on the Shore who have never been more than 100 feet above sea level.
ReplyDeleteI'll still take the good ole Eastern Shore of Maryland.....I like the oceans majesty and the seafood that comes from the waterways surrounding us.
ReplyDeleteOnly place left to escape

ReplyDeleteJust looking at the picture has a cooling effect.
ReplyDeleteSet up a Thrashers in the gap next to the elk.
