Two-Party-System Implodes As Top Republicans Formally Support Democrat

The list of Republicans who support Hillary Clinton is growing — quickly … Richard Armitage, Henry Paulson, Brent Scowcroft. Three big-name former George W. Bush administration officials in the past few weeks have announced that they are supporting Hillary Clinton in 2016 — all because Donald Trump is simply a bridge too far for them. –Boston Globe

Trump may be a “bridge too far,” but why are Republicans voting for Hillary Clinton?

In fact, this election has revealed the truth about the US two-party system.

There is only one party: pro-war and pro-technocratic (corporatist).

The fundamental mythology of US politics is that the Democrats are socialist-oriented and Republicans believe in freedom and individual human rights.

But Hillary is corporatist, not socialist.

Meanwhile Trump, whose rhetoric sometimes adopts certain libertarian and free-market overtones, is pilloried by Republican leaders who increasingly state they will vote for Hillary.

  1. These so called Republicans have been bought by the same people who have bought the Democrats. Trump is the people's choice and the political elites are not supporting him because they do not want to lose their political clout.

  3. It should be obvious to every person in this country at this point that our "left" and "right" wings are wings on the same bird! It's been fake choice for decades. Our government has been hijacked mafia style by special interests in the form of speaking fees, the military industrial complex, corporations, and banks. Donald Trump isn't following the script. That's why he's racist, sexist, and any other thing they can come up with to try and discredit him. It's really comical how much the entire main stream media and Hollywood is controlled and scripted to push their agenda of destruction and pillaging for money.

  4. If Trump would keep his mouth shut when it should be, he would enjoy more support. I am a republican and find it increasingly less likely that I will vote for him. I may sit this election out.

  5. our gov has only been hijacked by you people who blindly vote Rep/Dem, refuse to do any actual real research on the issues, and constantly spout "what you believe" instead of focusing on "what is the truth".

  6. What are their names so we know who not to vote for. They can't have both ways. We only one way and that is Trump. (map)

  7. We are better off becoming Democrats and have a one party system at least your vote will be counted and could get the lesser of evils.

  10. At the end of each and every day, Trump's greatest asset is that he is not Hillary Clinton!

That was the case when he announced; it's the case today; it will be the case on November 8; and it will be the case in January 2017.
