This seemed to be a hit yesterday so we will try this again. Since today is Thursday we can add Throwback Thursday. Tell us a good memory from the past.
This will be an open thread for today. Tell us what is happening in this area. The good the bad and the ugly. Did someone do something nice for you? Let us know!! Did something upset you? Let us know! Have a good joke to tell? We want to hear it! Have a question you want to ask? This is your chance to get it off your chest.
I have a question. What does everyone use to clean their wood floors? Do you use the floor brand cleaner that the floor manufacturers recommend? Do you use a steam cleaner? A damp mop? If so what cleaner if any?
8:34, We have had wood floors in all of our homes over the years. The very best way to clean/maintain wood floors is Windex. We use a wide, flat, rectangular mop where the mop head can be removed. Soak it in water and strain it until it is moist. Then take Windex and spray the mop head. You'll repeat this several times, (depending on the size of the floor) but it gives you amazing results.
Well I would have never guessed. I know Windex did wonders for diamonds and other gemstones but not wood floors. It makes sense. I've been looking at those "spin mops." They are a small sized floppy type mop made of microfiber strips. One side of the bucket you put in your water and cleaner if you use any, and the other is the spinner that really gets out the water. The spinner is operated by a pedal. The Windex could then be sprayed on the mop head. Thanks for the info Joe. I'm looking forward to trying the Windex.
Need some opinions. I just moved here from another state after accepting a teaching position in Wicomico County. I don't know much about this school system or the area. Was wondering if anyone could give me some insight on whether or not it is worth joining the local and state teachers union here. I don't agree with much of what unions do, but does the teachers union around here really help and benefit teachers? Would it be worth joining the local and state teachers unions here in Maryland? Thank you all for any insight.
I just watched (on FOX and Friends) the SOLDIER RIDE take off in N Y City - starting with the singing of The Star Spangle, next came the bag pipes and drummers followed by our wounded warriors.
SoldierRide is a unique four-day cycling opportunity for wounded service members and veterans to use cycling and the bonds of service to overcome physical, mental, or emotional wounds.
My tears flowed with pride ... and than I remembered that Bast..d leading our country who believes "Gay Pride" and "Black Lives Matter" are more important to care for and protect (by our Men in Blue, who are dying for the Obama cause.
Come January 20, 2017 Trump will get the priorities straighten out.
My best memories always revolve around family. When family wasn't spread across the country, as mine is now. Spending holidays with all the cousins, aunts and uncles who always met at our house (where Grandma lived). Thanks to Facebook, I'm able to stay close to those cousins after many years of separation.
Re: the teacher union question. The state group is in bed with all things Democrat. The local group tried to leave the state group several years back because of this. It caused a local rift. I'd suggest settling into your classroom and then making up your own mind. Membership is not compulsory; nor are dues.
Welcome to the area. Thanks for working with our kids.
One of the best cleaning products I use to use is clean ammonia but only in cool water. Never mix it in hot because all the cleaning properties are lost in the vapor from the hot water. However: It is getting almost impossible to find NON SUDSY ammonia. Would love to know if anyone knows where I can get the ammonia without the suds. Thanks Joe.
12:20 I use ammonia on occasion. Thanks for the tidbit on the water temp. I never knew that. Non sudsy is also referred to as clear ammonia and you can get it at Tractor Supply.

ReplyDeleteJackhammer and re-pour for me! A hard trowel finish is best for sweeping.
