Are fat people less intelligent than thin?

People who are overweight make wrong food choices as they have 'less grey and white matter in the brain'

Fat people are less intelligent than people with a normal weight, a provocative study claims.

Overweight men and women have less grey and white matter in key areas of the brain.

They also have greater impulsivity and ‘altered reward processing’, the study said.

The researchers said that their findings could explain why overweight people make poor diet choices - they do not have the mental capacity to control themselves.

Nor are they able to stop themselves from making poor choices when the do eat something.

The theory is likely to prove controversial as weight loss campaigners have emphasised that each individual has different reasons for their struggle with their body.

  3. Academics are so stupid.

Just look at families. Usually all of a family will be overweight or skinny. There is a genetic disposition for obesity. Some people burn energy faster than others.

  4. What a bunch of hogwash. A 32 people study. Ok, did they lose weight and then did you re-scan them to see if there were changes? Was the difference there first making it difficult to resist eating? Or were there changes in the brain after they gained weight?

I know a lot of stupid skinny people.

  5. There are so many variables to account for. This "study" is inherently B.S.It's poor science and the masses are to fat, I mean stupid to know any better.

  6. Some people make poor choices about what they eat on a daily basis and become obese and/or diabetic. Maybe the hereditary aspect is that all the family members are dumb if they are all fat.

  15. This is BS. Look at the food industry for pumping additional sugar into every single thing we eat. Look at the food industry for the growth hormones they pump into every type of meat we eat. Look at the food industry for the genetically modified vegetables that they couldn't pump additional sugar into and you can see where the average person has no clue why they are so big and cannot seem to lose weight. Then if all the sugar doesn't get them, they are pumped full of antibiotics for everything from a simple cold or sinus infection to the things that really need antibiotics. This kills off the good bacteria in our guts and then the yeast infections take over and they feed off of the sugar that is being pumped into our diets. Causes a never ending cycle of everything from diabetes to fibromyalgia to migraine headaches to certain types of cancers. Also fatty organs in the body. Obesity and joint pain. Our livers have no clue what to do with all of that sugar. It is not a natural element to your organs.

Also while your body is going through all of that you could work out for two hours a day and never lose a pound because of the systemic yeast infection in your body. Then comes the leaky gut and the lung infections.

But yeah, it is because fat people aren't as smart as slim people, right? Take it from a "former fat person" who got a little wiser to what was being put their body. After learning about this stuff and drastically reducing all "added" sugars, I am forty pounds down and heading for being really smart.
