The sun has just finished rising over the Mediterranean horizon and soon there will be enough energy absorbed from the solar cells to power the airplane without further discharging the batteries. This is always an intense moment for the Solar Impulse engineers at the Mission Control Center and the pilot, André Borschberg, who await the moment of truth: to see whether the plane can be powered by the sun once again.
