FREDERICA, Del. (AP) — Authorities say a Maryland man fatally shot by a Delaware State Police trooper was carrying a cigarette lighter that looked like a gun.
State police spokesman Sgt. Richard D. Bratz on Wednesday identified the man shot Monday night as 25-year-old Raymond A. Hutson of Greensboro.
Hutson was shot after Caroline County, Maryland, sheriff’s deputies pursued a stolen pickup truck into Delaware, where troopers joined the chase.

Well, big deal, rob a bank with it and you will still get 20 years, real or not.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good shoot to me.
ReplyDeleteI am the biggest critic of police! I and can say that if you lead police on a chase in a stolen truck and get out with a lighter that looks like a pistol then you deserved to die! Cant believe I'll say this but good job officer!
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with you. From the title I expected to read this and be furious at the police but this guy had it coming.
DeleteSo what ??? Good shoot.
ReplyDeleteDon't bring a gun to a gun fight unless you are a gun fighter period. Cops are paid gun fighters and should win.
ReplyDeleteStuck on stupid.
ReplyDeleteIf you are a criminal not smart to have a gun shaped lighter.
Just plain stupid to pull it out when stopped by the police.
Any cop would have shot him.
Darwinism at its finest
