Former GOP presidential candidate Ben Carson didn't buy Attorney General Loretta Lynch's comparison of North Carolina's bathroom law to the Jim Crow laws of the pre-civil rights era.
"That's what they always say," Carson said Monday on Fox News Channel's "Your World with Neil Cavuto." "Everything is like Jim Crow. Everything is like racism and segregation and slavery. What a bunch of crap."
"We saw it in the Jim Crow laws that followed the Emancipation Proclamation. We saw it in the fierce and widespread resistance to Brown v. Board of Education, Lynch said Monday in announcing the Justice Department filing a lawsuit over the state's law that requires transgendered people to use the bathroom of the sex on their birth certificate rather than the one they identify with.
Carson, who is black, said liberals make the comparison to gain sympathy, "but thinking people know better."

Dr. Carson was an excellent doctor. He should have stuck to it. Perhaps he could still be a medical school professor for his second career. He would be able to regain and maintain his good reputation among all Americans.
ReplyDeleteOnce again another government person has shown complete ignorance of what Jim Crow was and the bathroom nonsense is not even close. Loretta Lynch, like Hillary Clinton, has no clue about what the concept was and its clear they never actually lived in it. They are race baiting by preying on racial tensions in this country and that has GOT TO STOP! It is irresponsible on her part both as a lawyer and a pseudo politician. She should be relieved of her position for not moving forward on other situations that have endangered Americans in a very real way. Shameful.
ReplyDeleteYou are a special kind of stupid 12:35. There is no "perhaps" about it. None whatsoever. Dr Carson could at any second of his choosing instruct at any medical school in the world and he could name his salary. He is in the highest demand. Do you understand-the HIGHEST demand. Instead of making ridiculous comments on blogs you time would best be spent reading up on Dr Carson. The JH Dept of Pediatric Neurosurgery was founded by him (the FIRST in the WORLD) and is a model to this day for other hospitals.
ReplyDeleteAnd another thing his reputation is fine and always has been and always will be. You could only hope to be a fraction of the person he is. You've not nor will you ever contribute a fraction of what he has to society and don't you dare ever ever forget it. You are a nothing compared to him and always will be and don't you dare ever ever forget that either.
You should read Carsons book. Its excellent, and you will be surprised that he is more than just a doctor.
ReplyDeleteThe Progressive Democrat's have been trying to tie LBGT to the civil right s movement but black people didn't fall for it.
ReplyDelete100% in agreement with 1:21. The mans reputation is, always has been and always will be impeccable.
ReplyDeleteFrom 12:35 to 1:21
ReplyDeleteYou sound like the man's mother.
As I said Carson was excellence in his chosen profession. Respected by all. Now he has sold out to politics to run for a position of power sensible people knew he couldn't take and will never hold. If he was so good at it he would be standing where Trump is standing now instead of behind Trump and making social commentary we can not even be sure Trump agrees with.
