Strange how this whole thing is working out.A few weeks back the outlook was bleak.Now they all look so good I would not suspect that they had ever been neglected/abused.
ReplyDelete$3,000.00+ worth of adoption fees right there. 300 dogs x $150 = $45,000.00. Follow the money. Available on 4/29 and must apply Friday morning. People gotta go to work to pay your fees.....
ReplyDeleteYou obviously have no clue how much it costs to provide care for a dog, to get it ready for adoption. They have been spayed and neutered, wormed, given medical care and extensive washing and grooming to get them ready for adoption.
DeleteThis is a relatively low end adoption fee. Get over it. Or open your own shelter and see if you can do better.
ReplyDeleteTo anyone complaining about the adoption fee: You're pathetic. No one working at the Humane Society is out to scheme people in order to get rich. I have family that work there and have volunteered on numerous occasions. This is a no-kill shelter that that cares for the animals they receive. There are plenty of other demons out there to chase; this is not one.
ReplyDelete$150 = shots, microchip, vet examination, animal grooming, and spay/neuter. Please show me a vet on the shore that will provide these services for this cost.
@10:14 If you can't skip make time to sign up for the adoption, you don't have time for a dog (in particular one that will require more attention due to previous neglect). Sorry the world doesn't revolve around you.

ReplyDeleteYes. That is for the ongoing care of all the animals at the shelter. The money pays for vet bills, medicine and so on.
DeleteMoney isn't donated to subsidize people's adoption fees.
If you can't afford $150 to adopt, you can't afford to care for a dog. One vet bill can easily run far more than that.

ReplyDeleteThere are loads of free puppies on Craigslist. Then you got to get all the stuff done.
ReplyDeleteYes, so those "free puppies" end up costing a lot more, and haven't been screened for socialization or bet checked first. It's heartbreaking to get a "free puppy" then have it die three weeks later of parvo.
DeleteThose with "free puppies" need to get their dogs spayed and neutered to prevent this problem.
I got my cat fixed through the Somerset county humane society. $30.00 and it included rabies shot and flea treatment too.
ReplyDeleteWhy are the dogs seized only available on Fridays. This is the second time my daughter has inquired about adopting but unfortunately can't get off work on Friday.
