Now not being a biker or know much about it. Is safer to stay on the bike or get tossed off it? I do think it is better to not be on the bike going under a truck but what about rest of time? Gee I know I sound dumb but just asking. map
The reality is that seatbelts save lives. Fatalities have dropped after it became mandatory. There are charts that show similar drops in fatalities with most vehicles having air bags too.
The problem is that most people are too ignorant or just plain dumb that the state had to make it an offense to get people to use them. They soon discovered that is was a cash cow. Just like being on a cellphone was a secondary offense and then they made it a primary offense. There are states that don't have handsfree cellphone laws and have lower fatality rates than MD. Says a lot about MD drivers....
Sorry, 7:27, but most people (no democrats, of course) do NOT want or need a faceless and unnamed bureaucrat managing our daily lives. They have shamelessly inserted their opinions (and turned them into law) on how everyone else should live (exactly the way they TELL you to, by the way), drive their car, raise their children, live on your land (DON"T mess with the RAIN - it belongs to them, too!!), manage your own health, etc. There is NOTHING they don't want to control and punish. And the cheering is deafening. You stupid stupid stupid lemmimgs. I'll remind you of the governor of New Jersey, who pushed through very punitive measures against his own constituents for speeding and not wearing a seat belt. His Gestapo escort team (above the law, of course) wreck the car he was in while driving in excess of 90 MPH (!!!!!!) and just about killed him because, wait for it HE WASN'T WEARING HIS SEAT BELT! In the presence of State Police! Still think the two sets of laws thing ain't absolutely true??? No fine, no "reckless driving" charges, no points, no terminations. No bills for the ambulance or helicopter. "We, the people" do the very same thing? Our license is TAKEN, the fines are unreal, the lawyer fees bankrupt us, and criminal charges are very possible. And when the bill for the 'copter (the one paid for by you - the taxpayer) come in, you might as well shoot yourself in the head. Wear a badge and have political clout? It's all good. TWO SETS OF LAWS. Its what revolutions are made of ......keep cheering. Add to that the few politically connected elites deciding who is the next president (and screw the people who vote) and voila! The people storm the Bastille. Its coming and can't be stopped. I hope you don't like guns. Its going to be easy taking EVERYTHING YOU HAVE. And a lot of fun, too.

It's always about the money. Tax, permit, fine, fee, license!
ReplyDeleteIF you let the state punish you 'for your own good' it will never end. It's tyranny you invited in the door.
