Joe, found these bikes in the wood in our neighborhood and I'm pretty sure they were stolen. Would like to see if I could get them back to owners before calling police. One looks to be almost new.
Contact Salisbury Police because the bike may have been reported stolen or are registered with them. If they are registered it will easy to find the owners.
Is your neighborhood near WiHi? Yesterday, I saw a young man riding a bike out from the school area onto Mt Hermon Rd and holding the handle bars of another bike as he went. I thought it unlikely that both bikes were his and he regularly rode like this. It was about 2pm so during school hours, too.

ReplyDeleteYou should contact the police, The location they were found in might help them in solving this crime if it is one.
ReplyDeleteThe odds of a Salisbury bike theft crime being solved and the bike returned to the owner are about 1 in 500, which is about the national average.
ReplyDeleteAnyone could claim them now with a picture shown of them. The police should always be notified in case the owner(s) reported them stolen.

The kids' bike racks are a prime target for thieves.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure someone just put them there while at a job interview
