The Best Town In America Is Actually Right Here In Maryland

Ever wonder what the best town in America is? No doubt you’ll get different answers from folks all around the United States. There is one Maryland town in particular that could definitely be a top contender for the title. The town of Berlin is a favorite among Marylanders and even the website, Budget Travel, named it America’s coolest small town in 2014. Here are just a few reasons why Berlin may actually be the best town in America.

Berlin is full of town spirit! They take their 2014 title of America’s coolest small town VERY seriously.

  1. Berlin worked hard to find its theme, and works doubly hard to maintain and grow around it. And it shows.

Salisbury hasn't found a workable theme that can so successfully drive its residents and government toward pulling it together.
(And, no, Crossroads of Delmarva isn't it. And neither (cough) is 'Bury.)

  4. With the way the city voting districts have been carved up, there will probably be a non-working welfare recipient on the city council forever.

  7. 4:47-In the 1700's Salisbury fell pray to land owners who only had their interests in mind and no vision of community and/or retail involvement.Hence the chopped up street system that navigated it's way around property boundaries before eminent domain became a reality.200+ years later the same mentality exists, except now eminent domain may not apply to the areas in question. In other words, the fate of our town was sealed upon it's inception. We began with a poor game plan that leans directly in favor of residential vs any other use.
