Mitt Romney launched a broadside against Donald Trump’s surging campaign on Thursday, calling the man who wishes to succeed him as the GOP’s presidential nominee a “phony” and a “fraud” who is playing Americans for “suckers.”
The 2016 front-runner already is firing back, calling Romney a "failed candidate" who begged him for his endorsement when he ran four years ago. Trump indeed endorsed Romney in the 2012 race.
Romney delivered his scathing speech at the University of Utah. As one businessman to another, Romney even mocked Trump’s record of building companies.
“A business genius he is not,” he said.
More broadly, the party’s 2012 presidential nominee issued a stark warning that Trump’s policies would lead to recession and “make America and the world less safe.”
He said the “only serious policy proposals” for the country are coming from the other Republican candidates on the field.

Romney is oozing with jealously because he was never able to do what Donald Trump is doing and that is rally The People. Romney is a hypocritical liar. He said Trump calls names and bullies while that's all this rambling diatribe directed toward Trump was.
ReplyDeleteWhat I take particular offense to is him calling Trump's hats lousy. Those hats were Made in America by Americans and I saw interviews with employees of the factory where they were being made and they were so happy to have work.
Trump is enjoying the wave of uneducated voters in the Republican party with his "Make America Great Again"... same as Obama with "Hope and Change". Empty quotes with no plan. Next.
ReplyDeleteAs I watched Mitt Romney’s speech condemning Trump I find myself thinking “Is it possible for the establishment to be any more desperate?”. Romney just proved that he will never ever be anything other than an establishment hack. During his run for president of the United States, he courted Trump for his endorsement. During the press conference at which Trump endorsed Romney, Romney sang the praises of Trumps business ability. Now Romney called Trump a poor business person. During the same press conference, Romney stated the Trump understood that the economy was in trouble and knew how to create jobs. Now Romney is making the statement that Trump has no idea what he is talking about as it relates to the economy. As I wrote in a rather elaborate comment to another article some time ago – we are watching the death throes of the establishment far right republican party. The establishment republican party is being shown the door by a common sense conservative group that demands accountability of its elected officials. Those who benefit personally from the status quo are desperate and they are rearranging furniture on a sinking ship.
ReplyDeleteOur new common sense conservative party is the result of the evolution of Tea Party conservatives. A group with values and morals that continued to quietly grow in spite of the hi-jacking of its efforts by the likes of Boehner, Harris, and most recently, Paul Ryan, to name a few. These individuals said anything necessary to get elected and then did the bidding of the disconnected establishment republican party.
Romney’s speech was the last ditch effort to rally support for a dying entity. Somewhere along the line he and his ilk forgot the concept that our country exists for us and is governed by our consent. Not the consent of a political party. He and his fellow hacks will pay dearly for it.
If Trump wins the presidential election the real winners will be we the people. But even if he doesn’t win the presidential election but wins the nomination in spite of the efforts of the establishment politicians, we the people should capitalize on the momentum and evict every establishment politician that stands against the will of the people during this election cycle. If we roll over and quit now, we will have condemned our republic to the death and The United States of America for which our founding fathers fought and died, will be gone forever.
"Empty quotes with no plan" Really 12:20? You are kidding right?
ReplyDeleteFYI-Donald Trump has his plans spelled out on his website. It would benefit you greatly to do your research before repeating what you hear from the media. They are counting on the low information uneducated like yourself to repeat their misinformation.
Now go to Donald Trump's website and read up on his plans for healthcare reform, tax reform, immigration reform, trade reform and so on before commenting further. Low information uneducated voters like yourself repeating what you hear without doing your homework serve no purpose other than to spread untruths for the media.
LOL 12:20 Instead of running that mouth about something you are clueless over how about using your fingers and typing in donaldtrump.com and you will find pages and pages of his plans. You are such a fool to hear something and not only run with it but show your complete lack of knowledge by commenting here. If you are claiming to be educated then you need to immediately demand your money back because you are not educated, not by anyone's stretch of the imagination. You can best be described as an ignoramus.
ReplyDelete12:20 Trump has very detailed plans, on multiple topics, spelled out on his campaign website, Einstein.
ReplyDeleteMore of a reason to vote Trump...
ReplyDeleteI just ask myself: What is it that makes a politician more capable to run a large business than a business man? What is it that makes a politician more capable of understanding foreign trade than a business man who had opened businesses over the world? I ask myself what it is that makes a politician more capable of understanding the threat we face from foreign countries? What is the magic knowledge that a politician has that makes them ANY better at reaching compromises for the sake of the nation. MY CONCLUSION IS NOTHING. This country needs a major change or we are doomed. Think about it !!!
