  1. Why, roads are clear and certainly were when that call is made.

    1. Open your eyes! Had close to 4" of heavy, wet snow on the ground at 5 am in Fruitland.

    1. And another extension of the contract to make up the day. Educate yourself before speaking of that which you know not.

    2. Hey now... We teachers have to makeup snow days at the end of the year. What concerns me is that the Board was closed. Why? If anyone gets a free 3-day weekend, it's Freddy and his good old boys.

  3. They have to make the call bases on conditions present at the time as well as potential for additional snow. They are advised by LE as well - believe me that no Superintendent wants school closed this close to the PARCC tests - also consider what is on your street / yard currently and what that may look like elsewhere - currently about 4" on my deck in Hebron now

  4. I hope they're still going to school in July. That's why kids in the public school system don't learn anything today. Always closing schools for no reason.

    1. I am typically they first to complain with snow closings, however this was there right call.
You must be upset with all these professional days that they teachers get. They get a lot and it is ridiculous.

    2. Ask the majority of teachers and the HATE the professional days, and think they are a waste of time. Be mad with the school board and the ones who negotiate the contract.

  5. It's above freezing and roads are just wet. What, are your kids too fragile to put on boots and walk through a little snow in the yard to get to the bus?
