Capitol Hill Shooting Suspect Identified

Chattanooga’s New 12 Now reports the shooting suspect who allegedly pulled a gun at the U.S. Capitol visiting center on Monday has been identified as Larry Dawson of Antioch, Tennessee.

News 12 Now reports “Dawson had an active bench warrant for assault of a police officer and unlawful conduct on capitol grounds at the time of the shooting.”

ABC News reports that Dawson allegedly “drew what appeared to be a gun” and was subsequently shot by Capitol Police. He was transported to a local hospital for surgery without any word on his condition.

ABC News also reported that Dawson “interrupted a House session in October 2015.” According to The Daily Beast, that interruption consisted of Dawson shouting “I’m a prophet of God” from the balcony of the House of Representatives. Thereafter, he “allegedly ran from cops and resisted arrest.”

  5. Right 2:01 like I said because the government failed. Years ago the courts ruled nuts have the same rights as anyone else no matter that they are shown to be a danger to others, so they can only be held for so long until they actually commit a crime. The mental health professionals recommend all the time that someone should remain institutionalized but the laws don't allow it and they are released.
