Many Minnesota residents are learning that taxes are being assessed against their estates to recover the cost of medical coverage through Obamacare from when they were alive.
"In finding this out, it's really blindsided us," Scott Killerud, a farmer in northern Minnesota, told The Duluth News Tribune.
Killerud learned that coverage for his wife, Ellen, 55, through MNsure — the North Star State's Obamacare program — would cost $11,000 against their estate.
Under Obamacare programs administered by the Minnesota Department of Human Services, the state may provide qualifying residents with free or low-cost medical care while they are alive — but liens have long been used to recover some or all of those costs after recipients die, the News Tribune reports.

Well they shouldn't be stunned. If they had brains. The IRS can take any owed money out of your tax refunds too and if you don't file taxes they will suspend your drivers license. What it amounts to is idiotic people who were oh so taken in by lies and were too stupid to read exactly what obamacare is. They heard 'free' and that's all it took. This country is so full of those in the moron IQ level that it's not even funny. Then you have to love the ignoramus' that thought they were getting 'healthcare' when the reality is it was healthcare coverage and hasn't much to do with actual healthcare. The bottom line is all democrat politicians are filthy liars and the democrat voters and supporters are both stupid and the dregs of society who contribute nothing positive to society.
ReplyDeletethat's FREE healthcare for you! it's only fair!
ReplyDeleteOur leaders should be shot.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure, but I don't think that monkey pretender of a president told us about THAT, either.
ReplyDeleteI'm still trying to figure out where my $2500 in "savings" went....
It seems to me that the only people that have benefitted form this scam on the taxpayers are the insurance executives. Payback to them by Obama for the millions they donated to him ("bribes" to you and me; "campaign contributions" to THEM)
You HAVE to buy it, but few can USE it.
If you are looking for a scam that reaps billions and is legalized by the Supreme Court, you'd have a very hard time beating this one.
Keep cheering.
9:53 You have to file taxes first. I'm still waiting for the IRS to catch up with a certain business that hasn't paid or filed in years. Yet you and I work and file taxes to support these con-artists. I wish they would take their due from him and leave the working folks alone.
