I Can't Believe This Happened Almost 10 Years Ago

I thought I'd share something with all of you that probably never knew this.

The Salisbury Zoo Will Never Have Another Jennifer Albero!

I received a telephone call this past weekend from the State Police asking if we could come out and rescue a small buck in a field near the Bypass. I had asked if DNR was called and the reply was, they won't answer their phone.

One of the VERY special God Given Talents Jennifer brought to the Salisbury Zoo was the uncanny effect she had working with animals. They treated her like she was their Mother. No one before, nor after Jennifer could incubate birds and infant animals and keep them alive, seriously.

Of course this Post is going to bring the Zoo Staff and the Mayor out of the woodwork and they'll be slamming me every chance they get here but the truth is the truth. You CANNOT deny photos such as this, IN THE WILD where a human being can just walk up to a wild animal and pet them and say hello.

Since DNR wasn't available we did in fact rescue this animal but it too had a sad ending. He had to be euthanized because of health problems and we were assured he would not survive. That doesn't mean we didn't try. We brought him to a trusted Veterinarian who looked him over thoroughly and made the call.

The State Police, City Police & County Sheriffs Department are on the ball Folks and they stuck it out trying to help and save this animal. Jennifer and I are truly grateful.

  4. Joe, What precisely (if you don't mind me asking) was the poor little guy's health problem? It wasn't anything like CWD was it? Amazing pictures, no matter the unfortunate outcome. Jennifer, the "deer whisperer."

  5. This woman has to be an Angel. It take a very special person putting off very special vibes in order to be able to just walk up on a wild animal, even if they are ill...what she's doing married to the Devil himself I'll never Know.
    Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
    just kidding Joe!

  6. Since Joe isn't available to address your post properly may I off this: It's a shame the deer and you could not have swapped places and may the fleas of a thousand camels infest your armpits! Your post speaks of your low intelligence. Get'em Joe squash 'em with that power!

  7. Well, we all knew one of the Salisbury Zoo Staff couldn't resist going on the attack against Jennifer. Incompetent, eh? 3 herniated disks in her back "on the job" and she still went back to work. I'd hardly call that incompetent. The best revenge is to live a good life and she's certainly proven to do just that.

  14. To the ignorant people trying to attack my Wife over this Post...

WE received a call from the state police because every time ANYONE tried to get close to this animal it would take off running. Their fear, (and main reason they called us) was that it would take off onto a highway and cause an accident.

Jennifer was the ONLY person who could get anywhere close to the animal. What you don't see in the images above if the fact that she leaned down and picked this deer up like you would a large dog. The deer instantly relaxed and allowed he to carry it to out PT Cruiser where we placed it in the back and drove directly to Veterinarian Jimmy Tragle.

  16. I've lived on the Shore for 36 years and I have never seen anything like this. I guess you're lucky to have had your camera with you because when you go to retell a story like this it's almost unbelievable. That is a very rare gift indeed.
