Driver cards now issued to undocumented residents In Delaware

Driver privilege cards are now available for undocumented Delaware residents in an effort to allow them to drive legally.

The card requires drivers to provide proof of identification at the state Bureau of Identification and be fingerprinted. They must also provide two years of tax records and pass vision and rules of the road tests.

State lawmakers recently joined the Delaware Hispanic Commission at an information session and kickoff party for the new cards at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Georgetown.

State Sens. Bryant Richardson, R-Laurel, Robert Marshall, D-Wilmington West, and Brian Townsend, D-Newark, agreed the new law was a bipartisan effort to make the roadways safer in Delaware.

  2. This is illegal on a FEDERAL level because undocumented is an illegal alien. Is Delaware just asking for the big take down when the Republicans win back the Presidency? Common sense people! Common sense.

  11. What part of "you are not, by any definition, supposed to be IN THIS COUNTRY" do the democrats and sissy girlie boy liberals not understand???
Being here illegally DOES NOT 'entitle' you to ANY of the legal benefits and protections that LEGAL citizens have....
I know....to Democrats, borders and law and security for U.S. citizens are merely "suggestions" and "ideas" but not actually anything they need to pay attention to....
    TWO SETS OF LAWS.
Every day. In your face. By the vey people who are SWORN to uphold the law. Lessons in integrity, brought to you by people who, if they EVER had any of THAT, must have bought it somewhere.
    Keep cheering.

  12. From a dealership, I have been told illegals DO NOT carry insurance. They have it long enough to get tags, then drop it. How this is not caught is beyond me. It seems when they cancel the insurance the provider should be notifying DMV. DMV would be notified if another insurance provider was in place, if no proof provided, tags & license are gone! Bye, bye.

Most of them don't. They get the insurance when they buy a vehicle but never renew it. Some insurance will allow you to pay month to month. They pay for 2 months and then stop. Even if the DMV is notified nothing is usually done. If you get hit by one of them your insurance will go up since you will have to file a claim. How is that even fair. You do everything right and someone else doesn't and you still are left footing the bill.
