Christie Endorsement Payback to Rubio for Attacks

Chris Christie's endorsement Friday of Donald Trump was payback for Marco Rubio's bitter attacks on the New Jersey governor during the Republican presidential campaign — particularly in New Hampshire, where a pro-Rubio super PAC's assaults on Christie were so fierce that he finished sixth in the primary race.

"This is payback in that sense," pollMore herester Matt Towery told Newsmax in an interview. "There's no love lost between Christie and Rubio.

"This was a counter-move," he added. "This was a move to counter whatever attention Rubio might've picked up [Thursday] that is a mark of a master strategist.

"It adds to my now-growing belief that Donald Trump is not some political novice, but in fact has a politically strategic mind that is far more sophisticated than most GOP consultants.

"What this has done is the art of the deal," Towery said, referencing Trump's 1987 best-selling book. "This had to be in the works. Trump had it in his back pocket."

  1. Who really cares? Our votes don't matter.Every time Fox or Cnn provide vote tallies R or D they highlight the Delegate votes, which determine winners. What these people do is nothing more than a soap opera that we the people have zero control over. This mess is good for entertainment only, but not to be taken seriously. If we had a popular vote only system we the people would make all of the difference.

  2. Christie was my candidate, but if he did this to get back at Rubio he has lost all my respect, he should have supported who was best for this country, someone he honestly thought would make a good commander in chief and President to lead this country. Christie you should not even be governor any more. I hope all your dreams in politics end with this selfish, thoughtless way to get even with someone. You are not what the American people thought you were.

  3. I believed in this man would have voted for him, but with this latest move glad he pulled out. He should not even serve as Governor, one who doesn't vote as an American what he feels is best for this country, but to just get even over some in justice he feels he deserves, is a traitor to this country!
