BREAKING NEWS: THREE CAR ACCIDENT EAST BOUND ON RT. 50 IN HEBRON

There's been a three car accident east bound on Rt. 50 near the Valero in Hebron. One vehicle went into the median toward the west bound direction and into a ditch while the other two are off to the right side of Rt. 50 east bound.

  1. Joe: Thanks for covering this - I'm at work in Salisbury this morning but we have bunch of employees who travel from Ocean Pines/Ocean City Area and I have been getting calls all morning wondering what is going on! BTW I left at 630 this morning and came in from Ocean Pines - people drive crazy - bad road conditions but no accidents. Thanks again!

  2. There was one car on it's side in the ditch on westbound 50 just past the Dash In. And then two cars in the ditch not too far past that. Ridiculous how people drive around here. And even more ridiculous on WBOC this morning not enough mention of what was going on nor to be careful.

  3. Make sure everyone drives like a bat out of you know where when snow is on the road.

  4. I saw the cleanup this morning as I was making my turn onto Memory Garden Lane. The state highway administration has seriously goofed on that intersection. The local commuters coming out of Memory Garden lanes, and going across rt 50 to Hebron, no longer go West and make a j-turn, like the intersection was designed; instead, they shoot though the convenience store parking lot, across rt 50, and cut into the westbound turn lane to Hebron. I see it every day (it is on MY daily commuting route). Last week that same intersection was closed down while they had to extract a driver from a wrecked vehicle on its side at that same intersection. The state highway admin. would be doing everyone a favor if they just closed that particular crossover in the median. The morons that would endanger everyone's lives by dangerously and illegally using the store's parking lot as a gateway to cross rt 50 will never stop the practice, as long as they can get away with it. Someone is going to die at that intersection due to their negligence.

  5. 826 so you just drove by and didn't stop to offer assistance? Because it's their fault? Shameful!!

  6. 10:22: They would be doing everyone a favor EXCEPT the convenience store. The convenience store would lose access to the eastbound traffic if SHA closed down that crossover. It is the combination of economics and negligence that is going to get someone, or many someones, killed there. Maybe when there are lives lost they will reconsider the cost of keeping that crossover open. Sad, but that is how SHA decision-making works.
