Welfare Users LIVID When They See THIS Grocery Store’s Embarrassing Demand

Some signs have popped up on display at a grocery store that are causing a huge upset among…ebt card holders. Welfare recipients are fuming at the words on the sign, and claiming that the sign “shames poor people”…

Jay McGuire posted a photo of the sign on Facebook, noting that he was getting quite a laugh sitting back and watching people’s responses outside the store when they noticed the sign. While shoppers didn’t seem to appreciate the sentiment, many of McGuire’s online followers couldn’t have loved it more. Then, liberal backlash ensued, claiming it “shames poor people.”

On a simple piece of printer paper in bold black letters, the signs at several Wawa’s read, “We are no longer accepting EBT. Please use cash or credit. If you do not have cash or credit then maybe it’s time to get a job.” Sure it’s blunt and goes against everything a bleeding-heart liberal believes, but someone had to say it, right? McGuire was just the guy to do it, because he’s the one who put these posters up for no other reason than to ruffle progressives’ feathers.

  1. Gas Station or convenient stores should NOT accept SNAP or EBT.

  2. I don't think this is fair , what about the small segment that do wanna work when no one is hiring ? They shouldn't be put into the same catagory and judged!! Maybe the ones posting these signs should offer a job, it might help someone out !!

    1. Why should the sign poster offer them a job? Is it not their responsibility to go apply for jobs? That is what I have done since I was 16, even when unemployed I went basically door to door asking for job applications! Not once did people ask me " do you want a job? " out of the blue!

  4. Welfare recipients should be sent army surplus daily ration kits and NOT prepaid credit cards known as EBT

  5. EBT cards should be VERY regulated. It should ONLY be for people who really need it. Anyone who can afford to buy cigarettes, steamed crabs, soda, potato chips, candy etc. etc. etc. DO NOT NEED AN EBT CARD and it makes me extremely upset every time I see it. So who should be upset, hard working tax payers or the freeloaders? Who should get great healthcare our veterans or the freeloaders?

  6. Illegal immigrants working for anything taking jobs away from Americans blame liberals for that.

    1. Are you a fruit picker, chicken catcher or a landscaper? If not, immigrants are not taking your jobs, but you are benefiting from the lower prices that their lower wages create. I know a guy who has 2 Mexicans who work for him. Years ago he had young Americans, but they were constantly late, messed up on drugs and alcohol, and demanded higher wages.
Part of this is an education system that tells every young American they can be an astronaut or the President, and not teaching ANY hands-on skills.

  8. If the welfare recipients had to go to a "jobs center" and do the no-skill work that people thrown in prison have to do it could fix everything.
Less demand for cops to CREATE prisoners as workers. Less people draining the system because they will either not work and not draw or, they will actually go out and get better job.
The corporations (like McDonalds and Coca-Cola) that are benefiting by getting workers at slave labor rates will have to pay more.
I have seen a lot of people angry at the businesses. You can't be. They aren't doing it to be greedy. It's really quite pathetic that if you sell fresh caught seafood in Salisbury and DON'T take EBT you would go out of business. That is the politicians fault not the business owner.
FDR was extremely liberal, but he still made people work if they wanted to get money.

  9. A very bold move and about time. EBT card recipients take advantage of these benefits and taxpayers have to foot the bill continually. A system can never completely eradicate abuse but vendors can decide whether or not to participate in that abuse. Glad to see someone taking a stand against it.

  10. 12:03PM has a point. It is a known fact that trades like plumbing and electricians are dying trades. Less people are willing to do blue collar work because the world tells them white collar is much more respectable. Frankly, if given a chance to rethink past choices, I would rather be an electrician or a plumber. Certainly trades that need rejuvenation as no one can survive without electricity or running water.

They have a foothold in industries where their competition is a dying breed. So much so, I was devastated when Mr. Bradshaw passed away. He was the best (and honest) electrician I've ever met. Always fair and did a fantastic job in everything he did in my home.

  11. Most people I know would like to have a bushel of crabs on Sunday, or some lobster for dinner, but are too busy paying their mortgage and the electric bill.
Letting someone else pay those bills would be nice, but working people have some pride and dignity. They believe that mooching, scamming, cheating, and lying are NOT traits to be admired.
We drive used cars, eat leftovers, and look for bargains. We do this so our "leaders" can TAKE our money and give it to people who have about as much desire to work as the poodle next door. And have lived on welfare for GENERATIONS.
Start the hanging before the middle class disappears entirely.

  12. While ago I gave someone a gift certificate to Wal Mart because the person is an alcoholic & WM does not sell alcohol (that I am aware of).Shortly after doing so my wife informed me that he could possibly have gone to the WM customer service desk and converted that into a pre paid Visa card.If that is true,(and it may or may not be),I feel stupid and can't win for losing.

  13. For some of you that think that all EBT cardholders are lazy and don't want to work let me set the record straight. I work 5-6 days a week. Have had the SAME job for 4 years and I make just barely above minimum wage. Every year they want to give us .25 raises. This year when the minimum wage goes up to 8.75 guess what?? That's EXACTLY what I'll be making. My rent, transportation to and from work and utility bills leave me BROKE at the beginning of the month. I have an EBT card because I get food stamps because once I am busted after paying my bills with money THAT I BUST MY ASS FOR I can't afford to feed myself. So before you start throwing around insults and stereotyping people maybe you should remember that not all EBT card holders are lazy assholes just living off of the taxpayers money. I pay out so I'm basically taking care of my dam self.

    1. I commend you for at least using the system as intended. Which also means that you know that EBT is supposed to be used for unprepared foods so subs and such from Wawa that people try to pay for with EBT are illegal. I'm sure the management and owner are tired of wasting their supplies and food to do the right thing and reject their payment and throw away the food. Removing EBT use will save them money, not take away profit.

  14. Ironic a lot of people I see with these food cards have better jobs than I do.It's all how you game (or don't ) the system. And Walmart DOES sell booze in some states,Florida for example. It doesn't carry booze around here due to arcane liquor laws.

  15. 9:47 Then you need a new job.

  16. I receive food stamps and my husband and I both work. I have never not worked since I was 16 and he had an unfortunate time where he got laid off and I'm thankful he found a job when he did. Yea I know people who abuse the system and know people who have a lot nicer things than I do and get 3x the amount of food stamps than we do. We have 4 kids so the grocery bill is pretty high. But to say that everyone who recieves food stamps is lazy and not willing to find a job is not always the case.
