Friends, I’ve just announced that I will be running for the House of Representatives for Maryland’s 1st District. We have a long journey ahead, and I’m glad we will share it.
What follows is the speech I gave in Crisfield this morning. I chose to be in Crisfield because Andy Harris wasn’t there when he was needed most. I hope you’ll support my effort to be a Congressman who does his job for the people who sent him to Washington.

If anyone was paying attention they would have noticed that the small crowds he had at his press conferences were nothing but city employees. The Department Heads were forced to be there by his demand. If they were not there he wouldn't have anyone at his press conferences.
This ought to be good! We can sit back and watch him tank like his idol O'Malley and Anthony Brown. Ireton's alcohol pickled brain prevents him from seeing the people of MD are wising up and that's why Brown got his butt handed to him and the Honorable Larry Hogan IS governor. If the "likes" on his FB post about his run are any indication of his popularity he should just hang it up now. Approximately 4 percent of his "friends" liked the post. Most of his posts related to the run have less than 4 percent. I heard from my friend that he's a drunk too. They were interested in some property the city had for sale and asked another DEMOCRAT politician about Sby and that person told them don't get mixed up with the drunks over there or something to that effect. It's bad when even your fellow democrats think you are a joke. The state democrats will ignore his like the national ones are doing to O'Mally. They think of them as useful idiots and not anything else.
What bothers me from his announcement... he says well I can't wait to see what Harris makes up about me personally... MAKES UP? You don't have to make it up Jimmy. It's all true. No one made up you taking it "under the boardwalk" in Rehoboth. You did that. No one made up you screaming at a black woman employee like the girl you are. No one made up you sleeping with reporters who cover you. It's not made up. You DID all of that but of course you are going to whimper, whine and moan that it's all the homophobes who are out to ruin Jimmy's rainbow colored, sparkler of a gay old time! You are an embarrassment to the gay community. Seriously, no one I know who is gay in town takes your seriously or thinks you speak for them. It's really ashame that just anyone can sign up to run for government office. Jim Ireton did nothing of any use in Salisbury, so his run for Congress is laughable. How does he even come to the conclusion he would be a good congressman is a mystery. He did not achieve one of his self-imposed initiatives. His people are skills are absolutely appalling and he doesn't work well with others. Yet, he seems to feel he is qualified to do the type of negotiating he'd have to do on the Hill? Interesting.
It doesn't say much for the past and present mayors of Crisfield to endorse this pervert. Even liberals should have some morals but unfortunately it seems that they do not.
How can he honestly say that Harris ignored Crisfield. We are still getting Sandy money and we have already received millions. In reality we got to much. It's at a point now where the folks in charge can't even spend the money they are getting from the Feds. We need conservatives that are more concerned about balancing budgets than they are about giving more stuff away. The only way I would not vote for Harris is if a even more conservative candidate would run.

The Delmarva Times reporter basically questioned Ireton's honesty in seeking their endorsement knowing he was running for Congress but it was tepid. They have a responsibility to do a full report on Ireton's antics dating back to running away from his city council seat in the 90s and how he is doing it AGAIN! They were interested in some property the city had for sale and asked another DEMOCRAT politician about Sby and that person told them don't get mixed up with the drunks over there or something to that effect. It's bad when even your fellow democrats think you are a joke. The state democrats will ignore his like the national ones are doing to O'Mally. They think of them as useful idiots and not anything else.
What bothers me from his announcement... he says well I can't wait to see what Harris makes up about me personally... MAKES UP? You don't have to make it up Jimmy. It's all true. No one made up you sleeping with reporters who cover you. It's not made up. It's really ashame that just anyone can sign up to run for government office. Jim Ireton did nothing of any use in Salisbury, so his run for Congress is laughable. How does he even come to the conclusion he would be a good congressman is a mystery. He did not achieve one of his self-imposed initiatives. His people are skills are absolutely appalling and he doesn't work well with others. Yet, he seems to feel he is qualified to do the type of negotiating he'd have to do on the Hill? Interesting.
