Goodson Trial Will Be Delayed; Prosecution Asks To Retry Porter First

The trial of Baltimore City Police Officer Caesar Goodson has been delayed, by order of the Maryland Court of Special Appeals.

Jury selection was supposed to begin at Porter's trial today, but Judge Barry Williams announced a recess in the case. This morning, Judge Peter Krauser, Chief Judge of the Maryland Court of Special Appeals, issued a two-page order calling for the delay.

On Friday, the Court of Special Appeals is considering whether Officer William Porter should be forced to testify for the state at Goodson's trial.

  2. The Mosby motion (ruled as Moot by Judge Williams) is clearly grasping at straws. An about face, begging the Judge to NOW grant a retrial for Porter before Goodson and White.
Even IF that happened and IF Porter found was guilty, it still DOES NOT fix Mosby’s problem. Porter would still need to invoke his 5th amendment rights while appeals pending, let alone the (now standard for a black “victim”) threat on Federal investigation and charges.
Then you have the problem of the prosecution accusing Porter was lying when he testified in his own defense. A prosecutor is duty bound to NOT put on a witness they believe is untruthful.
    What a fiasco.
What a study in why affirmative action has been a complete failure.

  3. Simply put – if your case(s) hinge on the testimony of one officer testifying against his colleagues and not forensic evidence, eyewitness testimony, etc., then you don’t have much of a case to begin with.

  4. Mosby is out in the weeds to confuse the issues. She has no case, never did, and this is all about a very angry black women ticked off at cops because her own family of cops were all corrupt and were caught. This is a non-crime. It never was a crime. It was an accidental death of a very dumb person in a dumb city prosecuted by an exceptionally dumb state attorney enabled by a dumb judge. It will completely fizzle out in 2017 when Obama’s DOJ is no longer stirring the pot. The name of the game in 2016 is run out the clock until the adults and sane people can start put things in order again.

  7. 9:02's got it. This is the story of a very nasty angry POS woman who came from a no good criminal family who disgusted themselves as LE and were caught. Have no fear. God will take care of her. God hates nasty evil liars like her. She and all her supporters will spend their eternity in hell right where they belong.

  8. This was a diversion from the start. Ferguson crashed and burned. Ohbammy and company needed a new horse to ride. This one was right down the street. People Ohbammy has divided races and sought to separate any trust the people may have in the police. This was never a crime. Civil maybe but no criminal intent. Unless we all agree Black and White cops set out that day to murder ole Freddy in broad daylight. If that is the case the racist view is all wrong. I guess blacks and whites are working very well together.

Use your common sense. Mosby was promised something and it is never going to happen now. Ohbammy will go down as the worst President in history and it does not have a darn thing to do with race. The man had an opportunity to make real change for many Americans. If you are doing better and I don't care what color you are raise your hand. Enough said. I think the man let an angry Black women ruin his chances at greatness. Thanks Michele.

  9. Goodson was the only officer that didn’t give a statement when the other 5 officers did. At the time, laypersons thought, what was he hiding? Surely advice of his attorneys and very smart legal maneuvering because even if Porter is made to testify, that in and of itself a perversion of justice it would be Goodson’s word against Porter’s. Goodson isn’t on record like the other 5 where their statements are to be used against them, we will hear from Goodson for the first time.

Why would Mosby & Grunts think an Appellate Court would sympathize with them if they were ruled against & it gutting their case. Gutting their case is a bull chit statement, it’s Porter’s rights that are most important.

  10. Mosby’s strategy is to convict Porter, then coerce him to testify “as instructed” against others while Porter awaits sentencing. Mosby is too stupid to realize that defense counsel will walk Porter through these circumstances during cross-examination, and ask whether, with a life-ruining prison sentence hanging over his head, he had any motive to say whatever the prosecutor wanted him to say. If he answers no, he’s an obvious liar. If he answers yes, he’s impeached his own testimony. Oops. Mosby’s got no case and no brain.

  11. Lack of respect for the rule of law runs deep in her family.
It's very unfortunate that you try and take these ghetto lying hustlers out of the ghetto but you can't take their lying immoral ways out of them. It can resurface at any given time. Shameful and the people of that city deserve the war zone they are living in. When you are a nasty people God will punish you.

I agree but unfortunately the charges are real, the trials are real, the the repercussions are horrific. All because affirmative action allowed an unqualified, stupid, angry, agenda driven person get a law degree.
