Franklin Graham Launches 50 State ‘Decision America 2016’ Tour in Iowa

Christian evangelist Franklin Graham is off and running on his 50 state “Decision America 2016″ tour.

His first stop was the steps of the State Capitol in Des Moines, Iowa on Tuesday, less than a month before the state’s first-in-the-nation caucuses are held on February 1.

An enthusiastic flag-waving crowd of 2,600 endured 30-degree weather to hear the 63-year-old head of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association encourage Christians to engage in the political process by voting and running for office in 2016.

“I’m encouraged that you care so much about your state and your country to come out today,” Graham told the crowd.

“My father extends his greetings to you. He’s 97 years old and his ministry now is limited to prayer,” Graham said of his father, Billy Graham, the most renowned Christian evangelical preacher of the last seven decades.

“We understand that our country is in trouble. It’s in big time trouble,” Graham began.

  4. I so respect Billy Graham, but Franklin seems to be headed in the wrong direction. He is so doing what Jesus would NOT want him to do and that is get involved in politics...Jesus said "Render onto Caesar that which is Caesar's and unto God that which is God's". Franklin needs to focus unto bringing souls to God and not be standing on any capitol steps to draw attention to himself. What matters is getting people to sin less and then we would have less problems...I pray on this tour of his, he is teaching God's words and NOT his opinions and I pray that his big salary from two non-profit projects helps feed the 27 percent of young people who go to bed hungry every night in Kentucky...wouldn't it be wonderful to see Mr. Franklin, Miss Meyer and Joel Osteen for example to give up their mansions on earth and jets in the sky to feed the poor in America and build housing for the homeless...we don't need another so called Christian politician, we need real Christian people to do God's work...

  5. Dr. Graham is to be commended as he actually knows that without God this nation is OVER. We're on the brink now and most don't see it.

BTW, since we live in a representative republic, ALL citizens are encouraged to get involved with their government on EVERY level. To educate yourself, to educate others, to speak up, get involved and vote. This includes Christians.

The major problem is TOO MANY Christians will complain constantly, but not get involved and not vote. Sadly the Christians become the problem. For heavens sake read what our founding fathers had to say about the way they set up our nation and see what they had to say about their belief in God and how our country could only remain free as it's citizens remain a 'moral' people. In fact, we were challenged to 'hold on' to what they gave us.

As you know and can certainly see what has happened to this country, we are sliding at a fast rate and the ONLY ONE who can save us is God Himself...Jesus Christ and Him Crucified.

  6. Well, 6:56pm you said it...only God Himself can save us...NOT A PRESIDENT, A CONGRESS, OR A SENATE...If everybody would bring God back into their homes, their churches, their businesses, etc. the world would be such a wonderful place, there hardly would be any need for any politician. The Founding Fathers were mostly Diests and did not specifically call themselves Christians and purposely set up the government to be separate from the church. Dr. Graham should stick to preaching and winning souls for God and stay out of politics like Christ told his followers...
