This is a scheduling announcement due to today’s weather-related school closing. The second marking period will now end on Wednesday, January 27th. Report cards will be sent home on Thursday, February 4.
High school exams will be administered tomorrow, Friday, in periods 4 and 5. The mid-term exams in periods 1, 2 and 3 will take place Wednesday, Jan. 27th. (Jan. 25 and 26 are professional days for teachers, with schools closed for students.)
They just had a holiday on Monday, now a snow day (for a dusting) and they are going to be off on Mon. and Tues.? Why bother going? Just take the whole winter off.
ReplyDeleteif there is no snow.
ReplyDeleteFor crying out loud! Don't give them any ideas, 12:57PM. Besides, the teachers wouldn't want to give up their paid summers. That would be a travesty.
ReplyDeleteTeachers contract for a set number of days. No such thing as "paid summers". Please educate your dumb self before making such comments.
DeleteWhat are Teachers Profetional Days or one day ?
ReplyDeleteWhat are Teachers Professional DAYS or one such day???
ReplyDeleteYou guys will criticize anything. How can the BOE predict snow would happen? They made the right call today based on the info from this morning.
ReplyDeleteYou all want them to protect our kids during a bomb threat but not when we have snow? Get over it.
2:48, I think the point everyone is trying to get across is that closing for a dusting of snow is a bit overkill. Roads might've been icy early this morning, but a delay would've been sufficient. Maybe if they used some of their professional days for snow make up days, or had simply less professional days, kids wouldn't miss so much school in the winter.
ReplyDeleteLet's just make it up on President's Day. Or would that inconvenience you too much?
Deleteas a teacher i am enjoying life can you say SNOW DAYS
