Well, Jim Ireton says the City will STOP Fire Service to the County on July 1st, WRONG!
It has already been stated that the City Council will NOT support putting a gun to the County Executive's head and demand anything.
The City Council believes that a situation like this MUST be brought to a negotiation table FIRST. The proposed actions the Mayor wants to place on the County MUST be approved by the City Council and it is my understanding Ireton does NOT have that support from the Council.
The Mayor is trying to pit the City residents against the County residents. BOTH sides understand that these neighbors, (City & County) provide different services to each other and yes, there are some services in which one or the other is not reimbursed.
So if you actually believe the flamboyant mayor and his little hissy fits, well, then I guess you are going to start hating the County residents now. Is that what you people really want, some drama queen for a mayor pitting you like the north against the south? If so, well, then you people are so stupid it isn't funny.
The Mayor never sat down with Culver to formally discuss this matter. The County is NOT in a financial position to simply bow to Ireton's demands, hence the press release below this article.
It is my belief that Jim Ireton just lost ANY chance he may have had to run for re election, it's over. This is no way to run any kind of business and Ireton needs to go ASAP.
If you though the Culver terminations were bad when he got into Office, wait until Jake Day gets elected and ALL of Jimmy's buddies will be out looking for a job immediately. Hey, not to worry, Obama will take care of all of you.
This whole thing reminds me of the Ireton Lock Out Ordinance. Remember that? Back when we were running against each other for Mayor Ireton told the business community, "if you can't police your own businesses, we'll do it for you and if we can't police it then we'll shut you down"! Hmmmm, let's see. How many businesses have been shut down Ladies & Gentlemen. That's right, not one. Just look at the police calls for service, nothing has changed at all. It's all about the LOOK AT ME MOMENT for Jim Ireton.

A Photographer Visited A Lost Mongolian Tribe. These Photos Are Stunning
Human civilization has come a long way since the early days of our species. Rising out of caves and undeveloped lands, humans have built cities and homes that the early generations could never have imagined.
The widespread growth of globalization has made it harder for historic cultures to be preserved. This is what makes the Dukha people of Mongolia so fascinating and amazing. The nomadic tribe has lived in the same region for centuries. During that time, they developed a special relationship with the wild animals. In fact, this relationship is so amazing it will leave you in awe.
Fortunately for us, photographer Hamid Sardar-Afkhami recently visited this lost tribe and documented what he saw through a series of stunning photographs.

Small Business Optimism Plunges To 9-Month Lows As Hiring Plans Tumble
Remember back at the turn of the year when NFIB Small Business Optimism was surging and the mainstream media proclaimed that jobs were coming back thanks to small business, and Obama stated "the shadow of crisis is behind us." Well, if March's Small Business Optimism index is to be believed... it's not. At 95.2 (missing expectations for the 3rd month in a row), this is the least optimistic small businesses have been in 9 months. Worse still, all those jobs that were going to be created by this optimism.. Hiring Plans dropped to 6-month lows.

THE NEW YORK POST REPORTS – FBI IS COVERING UP SAUDI LINKS TO 9/11 ATTACK
Former Democratic Sen. Bob Graham maintains the FBI is covering up a Saudi support cell in Sarasota for the hijackers
Former Democratic Sen. Bob Graham, who in 2002 chaired the congressional Joint Inquiry into 9/11, maintains the FBI is covering up a Saudi support cell in Sarasota for the hijackers. He says the al-Hijjis’ “urgent” pre-9/11 exit suggests “someone may have tipped them off” about the coming attacks.
Graham has been working with a 14-member group in Congress to urge President Obama to declassify 28 pages of the final report of his inquiry which were originally redacted, wholesale, by President George W. Bush.
“The 28 pages primarily relate to who financed 9/11, and they point a very strong finger at Saudi Arabia as being the principal financier,” he said, adding, “I am speaking of the kingdom,” or government, of Saudi Arabia, not just wealthy individual Saudi donors.
Sources who have read the censored Saudi section say it cites CIA and FBI case files that directly implicate officials of the Saudi Embassy in Washington and its consulate in Los Angeles in the attacks — which, if true, would make 9/11 not just an act of terrorism, but an act of war by a foreign government.
– From the New York Post article: How the FBI is Whitewashing the Saudi Connection to 9/11
One of the strangest aspects of the post 9/11 period has been the number of very intelligent people who intimately appreciate and fight against the innumerable crimes and thefts committed by the American oligarchy, yet simply can’t come to terms with the fact that the official story of September 11, 2001 is a heaping pile of bullshit. At the end of the day, I think it’s just a function of managing career risk. Having already achieved some level of public success, not many people will want to give the mainstream media the opportunity to attach “9/11 truther” to their name, thus tarnishing all the other work they do in the mind of the general public.

IRS admits agency-wide failures, asks lawmakers for money to make it better
Despite claims that the IRS blew millions of dollars on “decorative” items like pricey exercise equipment, toy footballs and kazoos, the tax agency’s chief John Koskinen was back on Capitol Hill Wednesday making his case for even more money.
Koskinen testified before the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee, that budget cuts have stripped the agency from being able to effectively help taxpayers. He said the lack of funding has led to longer waits for taxpayers turning to IRS help centers.
“Customer service, both on the phone and in person, has been far worse than anyone would want,” he said. “It’s a simple matter of not having enough people to answer the phones and provide service at our walk in sites, as a result of the cuts to our budget.”

Residents fleeing high-tax states
States with highest taxes also have the largest gaps in wealth
Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren appeared on one of the late night talk shows last week, beating the class warfare drum and arguing for billions of dollars in new social programs paid for with higher taxes on millionaires and billionaires.
In recent years, though, blue states such as California, Illinois, Delaware, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland and Minnesota adopted this very strategy, and they raised taxes on their wealthy residents. How did it work out? Almost all of these states lag behind the national average in growth of jobs and incomes.
So, if income redistribution policies are the solution to shrinking the gap between rich and poor, why do they fail so miserably in the states?
The blue states that try to lift up the poor with high taxes, high welfare benefits, high minimum wages and other Robin Hood policies tend to be the places where the rich end up the richest and the poor the poorest.

State's overestimation of prison meals leads to food emergency, contractor dispute
The cost of feeding thousands of prisoners in Baltimore City's state-run jails will be scrutinized this week after state procurement confusion led to a contractor backing out of a three-year food deal just weeks into the job.
Maryland's Board of Public Works must decide Wednesday whether to approve higher per-meal payment rates for the contractor — Crystal Enterprises Inc. of Prince George's County — by 54 percent in order to keep it on the job long enough to rebid the deal. The rebid is necessary because state procurement documents overestimated by 6,700 the daily number of meals to be served.
But officials are questioning how the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services got to this point. And a competing company is crying foul.

CANINE STOMACH FLU? THE CONTAGIOUS NOROVIRUS COULD BE SPREAD FROM DOG TO OWNER
Study says there’s a chance dogs and humans can give each other stomach bug...
With the concern about the current canine flu hitting epidemic levels, owners may have found some comfort in the news that this particular strain of flu is unable to affect humans. Although veterinarians still advise on keeping a clean environment for pets, what about the potential for other viral candidates to make the jump from pet to owner and vice versa?
A study from the American Society for Microbiology says there’s a chance dogs and humans can give each other the stomach bug. In the latest issue of the society’s publication, “Journal of Clinical Microbiology,” Dr. Sarah Caddy, a veterinarian and Ph.D. student at the University of Cambridge, and Imperial College, London, calls for more testing of possible cross-contamination between pet and pet owner.
As a vet, Caddy had come across several stories from dog owners that both they and their dogs had come down with the stomach flu, formally known as norovirus. Noting little in the way of research in the area, she decided to tackle the topic. She found some dogs in the study exhibited antibodies to norovirus.

Could New Cop-Tracking Apps Put Officers' Lives in Danger?
As anti-police sentiment across the U.S. grows, app developers are releasing a wave of apps to help people track and document police.
But should these apps be legal?
Former police officer Steven Rogers said on "Fox and Friends" that these apps have absolutely no redeeming value. He asserted that they will hinder the ability of law enforcement to properly do their job, and more importantly, they will put officers' lives in danger.
Policy analyst at the Cato Institute Matthew Feeney acknowledged that a potentially dangerous app called "Waze" allows citizens to pinpoint where cops are.
Feeney pointed out that it's not just about apps, either, as Twitter or text messages could be used to broadcast information about police.

The Power of Lies
It is one of history’s ironies that the Lincoln Memorial is a sacred space for the Civil Rights Movement and the site of Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech
Lincoln did not think blacks were the equals of whites. Lincoln’s plan was to send the blacks in America back to Africa, and if he had not been assassinated, returning blacks to Africa would likely have been his post-war policy.
As Thomas DiLorenzo and a number of non-court historians have conclusively established, Lincoln did not invade the Confederacy in order to free the slaves. The Emancipation Proclamation did not occur until 1863 when opposition in the North to the war was rising despite Lincoln’s police state measures to silence opponents and newspapers. The Emancipation Proclamation was a war measure issued under Lincoln’s war powers. The proclamation provided for the emancipated slaves to be enrolled in the Union army replenishing its losses. It was also hoped that the proclamation would spread slave revolts in the South while southern white men were away at war and draw soldiers away from the fronts in order to protect their women and children. The intent was to hasten the defeat of the South before political opposition to Lincoln in the North grew stronger.

Mom of disabled son in woods to face attempted murder charge
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A woman accused of dumping her quadriplegic son in the woods at a park so she could spend the week with her out-of-state boyfriend will face an attempted murder charge, police said Tuesday.
Nyia Parler has been hospitalized for undisclosed reasons in Maryland since hours after her 21-year-old son was found last Friday in a pile of wet leaves in Cobb Creek Park in Philadelphia next to his wheelchair and a Bible. Police said they believe Parler’s son had been in the woods all week and was exposed to the cold, rainy weather and to wild animals.
Police said they have added attempted murder to an initial slate of charges listed in an arrest warrant Saturday. Those charges include aggravated assault, kidnapping and neglect of a care-dependent person.
Police said they did not expect to arrest the 41-year-old Parler until she was cleared for release from the hospital and charged in Maryland as a fugitive. They would then seek to have her extradited.

Senators Try To Revise No Child Left Behind — A Few Years Behind
News flash: Members of the U.S. Senate will work across party lines Tuesday for the sake of America's students.
Well, at least for a few more days.
A bipartisan group of senators on the HELP committeewill begin hashing out the details of a proposed rewrite to the massive education law known as No Child Left Behind. The law, itself a reauthorization of the landmark Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965, was supposed to have been revised back in 2007.
Obsessives and political ed junkies, grab your popcorn. You can stream the markup live here.
If you're a public school teacher, there is a lot to like in this major revision of President George W. Bush's signature education law, passed in 2001. The proposed changes would let states — not Washington — decide how to evaluate their teachers and fix struggling schools.

Inspection of VA health system in Md. notes delays for care
BALTIMORE (AP) — A Veterans Administration inspection of quality of care issues at Maryland’s veterans’ health care system founds delays in access occurred with a patient.
The inspection report was released Tuesday by the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Inspector General. The inspection was requested by Sen. Barbara Mikulski, a Democrat.
The report says delays in access for care occurred for a patient at the Perry Point VA Medical Center. Identified only as Patient B, the report says the patient was seeking help at the mental health clinic before he killed himself.

Key Facts From Police-Involved Shootings Over The Last Year
We've done a lot of writing and reporting at Code Switch over the last year on deadly police shootings of unarmed black people, cases that have become such a part of our landscape that they have a tendency to melt into each other. Indeed, sometimes the pattern of facts seems to barely change: Just last fall, we followed the story of another unarmed black man in South Carolina who was shot following a police traffic stop. The officer in that shooting, like Slager, was later fired and arrested once the video of that encounter surfaced and contradicted his initial report.
While names and places change, the backdrop against which these stories play out does not. We decided to pull together what we've learned along the way, along with some thoughtful commentary from other outlets about this case and the larger questions it raises.
What Video Shows — And Doesn't Show
So, are these ugly encounters between police and civilians becoming more common, or is technology simply making them easier to capture? It's surprisingly difficult to tell —there's no comprehensive national database on either police use of force or on police-related deaths. The Justice Department can ask the thousands of police agencies across the country to share their numbers, but it can't compel them to do so. And since those agencies often have their own definitions of what constitutes use of force, it's hard to make useful comparisons.
From 2003 to 2009, the Justice Department found that 4,813 people died while a member of law enforcement was trying to arrest or restrain them, or shortly thereafter. How you look at those (again, imperfect) numbers is largely a matter of framing, as we've previously reported:

"If you're looking at the universe of all arrests, it feels like arrest-related deaths are exceedingly rare. The report noted that those 4,800 arrest-related deaths came during a period in which the FBI estimated that there were nearly 98 million arrests made nationally. That's .005 percent of all arrests, some of which will be deemed justifiable homicides.
"But if you consider these numbers simply as a tally of arrest-related deaths by themselves, it happens frequently enough that any such case might make a headline every single day. A measure compiled by Colorlines and the Chicago Reporter in 2007 found that nearly 9,500 people across the country were shot by the police between 1980 and 2005 — 'an average of nearly one fatal shooting per day.' "

5 things to know about Tax Day: For most, it’s not that bad
WASHINGTON (AP) — Wednesday is the deadline for filing income tax returns, a day long associated with the dread of rushing to fill out complicated forms and, perhaps, making a payment to Uncle Sam.
But for most, it’s not that bad. Aside from the complicated forms, tax season generates $300 billion in tax refunds each year, a significant boost to the U.S. economy.

Fail: New York Times Tries To Play Race Card, Rewrite History
In its lead editorial Sunday, the New York Times plays the race card, accusing Republicans of criticizing President Barack Obama’s foreign policy because he is black. The editors, like many on the left, refuse to acknowledge that it is Obama’s own radical policies, and imperious style, that led to the backlash that delivered Congress to the opposition in the first place. However, since the “paper of record” attempts to rewrite history to back up its claims, the editorial is worth deconstructing.
It begins:
It is a peculiar, but unmistakable, phenomenon: As Barack Obama’s presidency heads into its twilight, the rage of the Republican establishment toward him is growing louder, angrier and more destructive.
Actually, what is remarkable about the “twilight” of Obama’s presidency is that he refuses to acknowledge his party’s recent historic defeat. Instead of listening to the electorate, he is governing as if nothing happened, enacting more radical policies.
Republican lawmakers in Washington and around the country have been focused on blocking Mr. Obama’s agenda and denigrating him personally since the day he took office in 2009.
A blatant historical lie. The truth: in 2009, Republicans were unsure how to deal with their defeat, and many were eager to appease him. Bill Kristol even wrote on the Times‘ own op-ed page that Republicans ought to give Obama a chance to show that liberalism could be “a service to our country.” That honeymoon ended with the massive stimulus bill of February 2009, when Obama rejected Republican suggestions, telling them simply: “I won.” The result: the rise of the Tea Party movement.

Baby food recalled over glass pieces in jars
Beech-Nut Nutrition is recalling more than 1,900 pounds of baby food products because small pieces of glass may have gotten into the jars, posing a serious health hazard.
The recall, announced by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service, affects 4-ounce glass jars of "Stage 2 Beech-Nut CLASSICS sweet potato & chicken" baby food with an expiration date of "DEC 2016."
The recall includes product numbers "12395750815" through "12395750821." The USDA says the labels have the establishment number "P-68A" inside the USDA mark of inspection.

ANNAPOLIS, MD – Governor Larry Hogan was today joined by Senate President Mike Miller and Speaker of the House Michael Busch in his second bill signing ceremony. Governor Hogan today signed 121 bills into law.
“The majority of the bills signed today were passed by both chambers unanimously and are a reflection of the bipartisanship that Maryland citizens expect and deserve of their elected officials,” said Governor Hogan. “I am proud to sign bills that include assistance for Maryland’s veterans and small businesses and take the necessary steps to address matters of health and public safety.”
One of the bills signed today include SB 602, for which Governor Hogan previously expressed his support. This bill establishes the Justice Reinvestment Coordinating Council in the Governor’s Office of Crime Control and Prevention. The Council will develop statewide policy to reduce spending on corrections and build strategies to increase public safety and reduce recidivism.
“Taking a tough stance on crime isn't just about incarceration,” said Governor Hogan. “In order to achieve lasting results in our criminal justice system, we must strike a balance and explore better, smarter options to reduce recidivism.”
Other bills signed today include:
SB 30, which clarifies that agencies must award contracts with an expected goal for veteran-owned small business participation.
SB 74, which establishes a task force to study maternal mental health.
HB 844, which increases the maximum amount for which the Maryland Small Business Development Financing Authority may guarantee a surety from $1.35 million to $2.25 million under the Small Business Surety Bond Program.
HB 1080, also known as Kari’s Law, which requires hotels and other businesses to allow for a direct dial when calling 911.
A copy of the bills signed today is attached.

NYT: Top Law Firms Unwilling to Fight Gay Marriage at High Court
As same-sex marriage proponents take their case for "marriage equality" to the U.S. Supreme Court this month, one area of inequality remains: the prestige of legal representation before the court.
The nation's top law firms have been hands-off in representing opponents of same-sex marriage, leaving the cases to smaller offices or to lawyers working without the backing of their firms, The New York Times reports.
That's in contrast to tradition, the Times notes. Top law firms have been happy to take on terror detainees held at Guantanamo Bay, including those with ties to al-Qaida.
The practice goes back longer than the establishment of the United States. Future President John Adams defended British soldiers accused of murder in the 1770 Boston Massacre.
More recently, the Times notes, Clarence Darrow represented union activists who killed 21 people in a dynamite attack on the Los Angeles Times building in 1910.

Domestic Assault?
Last Saturday there was a shooting on Nanticoke Road that many of us ignored. The reason, it was put out as a domestic assault.
We came to learn today that the person was arrested on attempted 1st and 2nd degree murder charges and is currently sitting in jail.
It looks like things are going to become VERY difficult to follow from here on out because of the way they are labeling the original charges.
A better view of it can be seen HERE.
Former NFL player reveals mother demanded $1m after he was drafted
A former NFL player has revealed that his mother demanded he pay her one million dollars as the cost for 'raising him for the last 18 years' after he was drafted into the professional league.
Phillip Buchanon was a first-round draft pick for the Oakland Raiders, and seventeenth overall, when his mother made the request in 2002.
Buchanon, who also played for the Houston Texans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Detroit Lions and Washington Redskins before retiring in 2011, discussed the incident in his recently released book New Money: Stay Rich.
'If my mother taught me anything, it's that this is the most desperate demand that a parent can make on a child,' he wrote in an exclusive excerpt released to Fox Sports.

Black Sand Pumped On Inlet Beach No Cause For Concern; Sun Will Eventually Naturally Clean Dredged Material
OCEAN CITY — Despite its dark, coarse appearance, the thousands of cubic yards of nearly black sand being dredged and pumped onto the beach at the Inlet this spring will naturally bleach out in the sun before the arrival of summer crowds.
The Army Corps of Engineers last week began dredging federal channel around the Inlet as part of a larger project the agency has been working on through much of the winter. The massive project is part of the Army Corps’ routine maintenance of the federal navigation channels throughout the resort area.
The channels silt in over time through natural and man-made processes and need to be routinely dredged to a depth and width to support the area’s commercial and recreational fishing and boating industries. The required dredging serves the dual purpose of maintaining the channels to the appropriate depth and width while delivering material to sand-starved migratory islands and beaches in and around the resort area.

Green Liberals Blamed For California Drought
For California Gov. Jerry Brown to crack down on shower-taking and toilet-flushing to save precious quarts of water as millions of gallons flow into the Pacific Ocean doesn’t make a lot of sense to Travis Allen.
The Republican Assembly member from Orange County is among those decrying the specter of dead lawns, dirty cars and neighborhood water watches as California braces for its first mandatory water reductions on urban consumption, which accounts for about 10 percent of the state’s usage.
“For the governor to come out and say, ‘Look, we all have to now take shorter showers and kill our front lawns and stop washing our cars,’ that is not the answer,” Mr. Allen said. “Forty percent of our water is going into the Pacific Ocean. The answer is, let’s stop sending that water into the Pacific, and let’s send it into our cities, into our homes.”
With everyday Californians now on the hook for drastic conservation measures, Republicans say the time has come to focus on the real culprit: a state and federal regulatory framework, fueled by environmental litigation, that requires a certain aquatic environment for at-risk fish while making it nearly impossible to build dams and other water-storage projects.

Police hunt for 2 more suspects in Florida spring break gang rape
A sheriff's department in Florida has released a video showing spring break revelers milling about on a beach not 10 feet from where an unconscious 19-year-old girl was being gang raped by a group of men.
The brief cellphone clip came to light as deputies continued searching for two additional suspects in the March attack in Panama City Beach that was witnessed by hundreds of people who failed to intervene.
So far, authorities have arrested a pair of students from Alabama's Troy University who were allegedly seen in a cellphone video recorded last month sexually assaulting a 19-year-old girl in Panama city Beach.
Bay County Sheriff Frank McKeithen described the graphic video as the 'most disgusting, sickening thing' he had ever seen likened the scene to 'wild animals preying on a carcass laying in the woods'. He said the sickening footage shows at least three men surrounding an incapacitated woman on a beach chair.

Record Number of Applications for Foreign Worker Visas
Applications for H-1B visas allowing U.S. businesses to hire foreign workers in science, engineering and computer programming totaled a record 233,000 for fiscal 2016, according to government figures released on Monday.
A maximum of 85,000 of the work visas, including 20,000 for holders of master's degrees, are available each year under limits set by Congress, despite years of heavy lobbying by tech companies to raise the cap.
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services on Monday used a computer-generated lottery process to dole out the visas, and will start processing them by May 11, the agency said on its website.
"Year after year, the government falls back on a lottery system to determine which U.S. employers will 'win' the ability to hire top world talent," Lynn Shotwell, executive director of the Council for Global Immigration, an industry lobby group, said in an email on Monday in response to the figures.
"This year, employers had a mere 36 percent chance of being granted an H-1B visa. U.S. economic growth should not be left up to this gamble," Shotwell said, adding U.S. employers were frustrated.
The United States loses about 500,000 jobs a year because of those limits, according to estimates from Compete America, a coalition representing tech giants including Amazon, Facebook and Microsoft.
But some labor organizations have criticized the program, saying it keeps down wages in the tech sector.

Veteran Put on Hold by VA Suicide Hotline
A Florida veteran says he was repeatedly put on hold for up to ten minutes at a time when trying to call the Department of Veterans Affairs suicide hotline.
U.S. Air Force veteran Ted Koran told ABC Action News in Tampa Bay that he was experiencing suicidal thoughts following the death of his wife six months ago and tried to reach out to the VA hotline.
The U.S. Air Force veteran first called the James Haley VA Center in Tampa, where a recording gave him the 800 number to the hotline.
Koran said he was placed on hold for 10 minutes.
“I had to sit there patiently, in emotional distress, in tears, wanting to give up, desperately needing someone to talk to,” Koran said.

ISIS Camp a Few Miles from Texas, Mexican Authorities Confirm
ISIS is operating a camp just a few miles from El Paso, Texas, according to Judicial Watch sources that include a Mexican Army field grade officer and a Mexican Federal Police Inspector.
The exact location where the terrorist group has established its base is around eight miles from the U.S. border in an area known as “Anapra” situated just west of Ciudad Juárez in the Mexican state of Chihuahua. Another ISIS cell to the west of Ciudad Juárez, in Puerto Palomas, targets the New Mexico towns of Columbus and Deming for easy access to the United States, the same knowledgeable sources confirm.
During the course of a joint operation last week, Mexican Army and federal law enforcement officials discovered documents in Arabic and Urdu, as well as “plans” of Fort Bliss – the sprawling military installation that houses the US Army’s 1st Armored Division. Muslim prayer rugs were recovered with the documents during the operation.

Finally, An Inspirational Story
Caitlin Adams is an Eastern Shore native attending school and running track for Towson University. This summer, she's going to Run Across Maryland to help purchase prosthetics for those who need them. Each prosthetic costs approximately $2500. So far her she has been able to raise enough funds to help 5 people.
Adams' run is scheduled to begin May 23, in Cumberland, Maryland. She expects to end June 27 in Ocean City, Maryland. Her route takes her across the Northern part of the state, South down the Eastern Shore, and then East to Ocean City.
“I think it’s going to be the most mentally and physically challenging thing I’ve done in my entire life,” Adams said. “I think there’s going to be definitely times where I’ll want to quit … But I know myself enough that I’m going to be able to say ‘I’m doing this for these people. I’ve already started and I’m going to finish it.’”
This journey is nearly 400 miles, and she would love some help if anybody is inclined to participate in her cause. Some ways to assist Caitlin's Run Across Maryland include:
Make a donation via her Crowdrise Page (it's tax deductible through the Limbs for Life Foundation)
Hold a Fundraiser - Paint Night, Happy Hour, Raffle, Cornhole Tournament, etc.
Run with Caitlin - If you're a good runner, she's planning ~10 miles per day on average. She would love your company. Many people have signed on and received pledges for their day of running with her.
Do you own an eatery or a hotel? Caitlin's going to burn a lot of calories and spend a lot of time away from home. A restaurant gift certificate and a room to rest while she's in your area would be a huge comfort to her.
Spread the word! A simple share on Facebook or a Tweet to bring awareness costs nothing. But it can often lead to donations, press coverage, etc.
To learn more about Caitlin's trip, visit RunAcrossMaryland.com or visit her Fan Page.

Tesla Gets Green Light For Maryland Sales Network
Electric car pioneer Tesla moved a big step closer to bringing its model of direct sales to customers to Maryland as the Maryland General Assembly this week approved a bill lifting a blanket state ban on the practice.
The bill now goes to Republican Gov. Larry Hogan’s desk for his signature.
Tesla has waged a state-by-state battle with the established network of traditional car dealers, who have argued Tesla’s direct-to-customer sales methods would undercut their markets and the legal protections put in place for consumers. Tesla and its backers say the dealers are trying to protect their businesses while limiting competition.
House Bill 235 authorizes California-based Tesla Motors to be licensed as a dealer in the state, although with a number of restrictions and reservations. Tesla officials nevertheless hailed the measure as a win for free markets everywhere.

Governor Requires Food Stamp Recipients to Work 6 Hours a Week, This Happens Immediately After
Food stamp recipients in Maine got a rude awakening when Gov. Paul LePage decided to impose a three-month limit on benefits for able-bodied adults without dependents (Abawds).
Now, before all the raging liberals out there start throwing a hissy fit and talking about how much conservatives hate the poor and all that bleeding heart rhetoric, this limit is only enforced if the “Abawds” refuse to get a job working 20 hours a week, take job training, or volunteer six hours a week.
Guess what happened when this rule was enforced?
Nearly 80 percent of people on welfare were cut off the program because they refused to get a job or volunteer to work six hours a week.

Mr Ireton,
Here are some pics from 5am today. This is the second time this week that they have shown up way before 7am. Two days ago it was 4:45am when they got here.
Now, I know that this isnt high on the priorities list, but this community has suffered enough at the hands of these contractors. The council says to contact the administration about enforcement, so here I am contacting you. The police department has been to this site more than a dozen times and yet the contractor still operates unimpeded to do what he wants. Laws are laws and they MUST be enforced.
Will you PLEASE try and help fix this problem????

Publishers Notes: You should know that the City has been dragging their feet on this matter for more than six weeks now. It has been in the hands of the City Attorney for at least that long. It took the Council all of 20 minutes to agree they need a new ordinance and now it has been in the Attorneys hands for six weeks and the contractor continues to completely disregard the law. I tried to reach Mr. Gillis this morning on this matter but was told he will be out until the 27th of this month.
New Footage Shows Miserable Elephants 'Losing Their Minds' In NYC Circus
A troubled circus was caught on film this week parading visibly distressed and scarred elephants in front of a crowd of onlookers in New York City.
A massive female elephant stood stock-still on a stage in the Bronx on Thursday night, back-lit by neon laser beams. As a playlist of Top 40 songs blared from a speaker above her head, she stared at a point on the floor about 3 feet in front of her for a half hour straight, shifting only when nudged by the sharp metal stick carried by her handler.

Russian Missile Sales to Iran Cross White House ‘Red Line’
Russia’s announcement on Monday that it will proceed with the sale of advanced missile systems to Iran crosses a so-called “red line” established by the Obama administration in 2010, according to comments by senior administration officials.
Following years of dissent from the United States, Russia announced on Monday that it would proceed with the sale of the advanced S-300 air defense missile system to Iran, which has been vying to purchase the hardware for years.
The announcement sparked criticism from the Obama administration, which has been pressuring Iran since at least 2010 to withhold the sale.
Russia’s previous ban on selling Tehran the powerful defense system was hailed as a coup by the Obama administration and promoted by it as an example of President Obama’s ability to rein in Russian intransigence on the military front.
However, Monday’s announcement by Russia threatens to complicate an already fractured relationship with Moscow and throw into further jeopardy the ongoing negotiations with Tehran over its nuclear program.

Hatch to IRS: Abandon Rule For Regulating Political Nonprofits
Senate Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch called on Internal Revenue Service Commissioner John Koskinen to abandon the agency's effort to broaden a new rule applying to political nonprofits, warning in a letter sent Monday that the move could further undermine confidence in the IRS following the uproar over its targeting of Tea Party groups for additional scrutiny.
"The IRS is just beginning to recover its reputation, and your agency is just beginning to regain trust from lawmakers," Hatch wrote to Koskinen. "Do not throw all of that away in a quixotic and bizarre mission to regulate the political activity of Americans."
Hatch said Congress will "have no choice" but to investigate the agency's motivations if it issues the rules, claiming that it would be viewed as an act of political bias. He asked Koskinen to preserve all communications related to the rulemaking, in case the Obama White House or Treasury Department is playing a role in shaping it.

Residents of High-tax States Vote With Their Feet
California is the prototypical example. It has the highest tax rates of any state. It has very generous welfare benefits. Many of its cities have a high minimum wage. But day after day, the middle class keeps leaving. The wealthy areas such as San Francisco and the Silicon Valley boom. Yet the state has nearly the highest poverty rate in the nation. The Golden State, alas, has become the inequality state.
So much for liberal policies creating a workers paradise.

Governor Hogan Signs 121 Bills Into Law
“Taking a tough stance on crime isn’t just about incarceration,” said Governor Hogan. “In order to achieve lasting results in our criminal justice system, we must strike a balance and explore better, smarter options to reduce recidivism.”

Pentagon Fears North Korean Nukes Mounted on ICBMs
In the wake of a pressure campaign from Beijing, South Korea's defense ministry on Monday dismissed comments by a U.S. military official who said North Korea is able to mount a nuclear weapon on a missile capable of threatening the U.S. mainland, The Wall Street Journal reported.
Adm. William Gortney, head of the U.S. Northern Command, said Pyongyang has the capability of mounting a nuclear weapon on the KN-08, a North Korean ICBM, and fire it at the continental United States. Gortney made the blockbuster revelation last week, veteran defense analyst Mark Langfan wrote in Arutz Sheva.
South Korean Vice Defense Minister Baek Seung-joo, speaking Monday in Seoul, said Gortney's remarks were "not made with a thorough assessment of North Korea’s capabilities."
A South Korean defense ministry spokesman said his government's position is that while Pyongyang has reduced the size of a nuclear device, it has yet to produce one small enough to place on a missile, the Journal reported.
The Pentagon on Monday stood behind Gortney’s assessment of North Korea's capabilities and said the admiral's views were in line with the U.S. position that it must plan for the worst-case scenario.
The disagreement over the North Korean nuclear ICBM threat could complicate talks on deploying a Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) battery.
China has pressured Seoul to reject the THAAD, apparently over concerns that it could also be used to restrain Beijing, according to the Journal. "We hope that China’s concerns and worries [about THAAD] will be respected," Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Jianchao said during a recent visit to the South Korean capital.

Ex-FBI Agent: DC's National Muslim Day Pushes Radical Islam
National Muslim Advocacy Day, being held Monday on Capitol Hill, is a cunning bid by radical Islam to gain political power in the U.S., counterterrorism expert John Guandolo tells Newsmax TV.
"This kind of event has several key elements to it. The first is they're trying to declare the U.S. Council of Muslim Organizations is a Muslim political party in the U.S. and candidates are going to have to be vetted by them," Guandolo, a former FBI agent, said on "The Steve Malzberg Show."
"It's also a demonstration to the Muslim community in the U.S. and outside the U.S. that they have a very heavy hand inside our leadership realm and inside Washington, D.C.
"Because here are open Hamas organizations — the American Muslims for Palestine, the Council on American Islamic Relations — and they're just wandering freely around the D.C. area."
The U.S. Council of Muslim Organizations describes itself as "a coalition of leading national and local American Muslim organizations."
But Guandolo said the event is a "smaller piece in the larger civilization jihad."
"[That] is the term the Muslim Brotherhood's strategic memorandum says that they are doing. So this political warfare, subversion, and propaganda … fulfills a part of that," he said.
"No. 1, they have a political presence. [And] It's political warfare in the sense they're establishing a much louder voice, at least in their opinion, up on Capitol Hill.
"And [there's] the idea that, 'Hey, members of Congress, if you don't accept us, then you obviously are racists, bigots, and Islamophobes.'''

Judith Miller: Media Have 'Double Standard' Against Republicans
The left-of-center media hold Democrats to a less-strict standard than they demand of Republicans, Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative reporter Judith Miller says.
The former New York Times journalist and author of "The Story: A Reporter's Journey" told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV on Monday that the public is acutely aware of the media's "double standard."
"It's very obvious that most of our colleagues in the media are left of center and they do hold Democrats to a different standard than Republicans — and people see it, they understand that," Miller says.
"Journalism would be better off if people acknowledge their biases rather than try to do what I was trying to do all these years … to say I'm an objective reporter even though I have personal views.
"It's better if we just talk about what they are and then people would know what they're getting."

How Do You Lower Crime Rates In Salisbury? Allow Me To Explain...
Well, it's simple. You see, when you publish a press release you simply put the suspects name in PITTSVILLE, when they actually live in SALISBURY.
Now we're not suggesting the crime didn't happen in Salisbury but we find it interesting that according to official records, this person lives in Salisbury but the SPD states they live elsewhere.
You have to wonder just how many other OFFICIAL arrests have been handled the same way in the past.

House votes 138-1 to end state-mandated stormwater fees
Senate unanimously approves changes made by House
The House voted 138-1 to the bill Monday night, and the Senate unanimously approved some changes by the House.
Critics have described the 2012 law as a "rain tax." While the bill ends state-mandated fees, it still requires local officials to prove they can pay to meet federal requirements to clean up polluted stormwater.
Hogan campaigned against the fees. While the bill that passed isn't the one he sponsored, Hogan has said he doesn't care who gets the credit for ending the state-mandated fees.

DNA evidence placed Lopez and Cerros-Cruz at the scene.
Lopez faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison for the conspiracy and for the robbery. U.S. District Judge Paul W. Grimm has scheduled sentencing for August 24, 2015, at 1:00 p.m.

A Viewer Writes: May I tell you my latest Comcast nightmare?
I have two accounts with Comcast at two different locations. I decided last week to add landlines to both accounts. The installation was done last week in Ocean City. Today, I tried to access that account online, which I have done for 6 years. Apparently, a new e-mail address was set up when the land line was installed. We were not told about this, not given the account log in or password. I was able to get that info via phone. I tried to access my account through the new e-mail address, but it wouldn't let me in without a PIN #. No one gave me a PIN #, and no one WILL give me a PIN #. They offered to e-mail it to me. Guess where they e-mailed it? Yep. To the new e-mail address that won't let me in without the PIN #! Seriously? I have spent literally over 5 hours on the phone and online chat with Comcast today and STILL have no resolution! I am completely frustrated, angry and fed up! A technician was supposed to come to the other location today to install a land line. I cancelled the appointment but no one told the technician and he showed up anyway (an hour late) and I sent him packing. I guess Comcast doesn't want me to pay my bill, doesn't want my business, and hasn't done a damn thing to improve their horrendous customer service.
Will somebody PLEASE start a new internet/tv/phone company???!!!!!
Here's A Breakdown Of Every Scandal Swirling Around Hillary
Expected to announce her presidential run Sunday, Hillary Clinton has been attempting to rebrand herself: She’s Hillary 2.0, campaigning out of Brooklyn, a more accessible, relatable candidate who learned the lessons of her bruising, failed 2008 bid: From now on, no equivocating, no entitlement, no dubious financial dealings.
How much has changed?
The Shady Foundation
Founded in 2001 as The Clinton Foundation and renamed the Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation in 2013, this ostensible philanthropic concern has become a liability.
As reported by the International Business Times last week, while serving as secretary of state, Clinton was lobbied by human-rights groups and union leaders to address the Colombian government’s abuse of striking oil workers, some of whom had been threatened at gunpoint by the military. Meanwhile, the oil company in question, Pacific Rubiales, was promising millions to the Clinton Foundation.
Hillary’s State Department wound up publicly hailing Colombia’s commitment to human-rights reform — and that statement allowed the United States to continue funding the Colombian military.
Today, the founder of Pacific Rubiales is a board member of the Clinton Foundation.

Pedophilia is a Cornerstone of Islam
Child molestation is not only widespread throughout the Muslim world, but is completely accepted as a standard practice by Muslim men. In fact, in 2012, Pentagon lawyers, at the request of the Obama administration drafted an Army manual which forbade any criticism of child molestation by troops serving in Muslim countries.
The 75-page handbook stated troops should avoid “making derogatory comments about the Taliban, advocating women’s rights, any criticism of pedophilia, directing any criticism towards Afghans, mentioning homosexuality and homosexual conduct” or “anything related to Islam,” Judicial Watch reported.
Of course, when speaking on the topic of pedophilia in Islamic culture, one cannot ignore the original ‘chomo’ (prison slang for child molester)…the prophet himself, Muhammad.
Muhammad married his bride, Aisha at age six, but reportedly waited until she was 9-years-old to deflower the youngster.

Mother who 'dropped her son in a cheetah pit' is a childcare worker
The mother-of-three who dropped her two-year-old son into a cheetah pit is the assistant director of a childcare center.
Michelle Schwab, who has three sons and a degree in therapeutic childcare, has been charged with child endangerment after she allegedly dangled her child over the 10-foot-deep enclosure in Cleveland Metroparks Zoo before he slipped and fell.
She faces six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.
Visitors heard a scream at 3pm on Saturday and looked to see Schwab, 38, and her husband leaping into the pit to retrieve the child, who was treated for a leg injury.
On Monday, a spokesman for KinderCare, a nationally-acclaimed education, care and resource provider, confirmed Schwab has taken a leave of absence from her management role at one of the centers in Columbus, Ohio.
