  18. I use to go over to my grandparents house and eat dinner. We would eat the things my Mom and her siblings forbid be cooked when they were around. Pigs feet and sauerkraut, chitterlings cooked in bacon grease in a cast iron skillet, fried tripe. In 1984 on my grandfathers birthday I sent him a card with a few dollars in it and told him he could spend the money on some pigs feet or his favorite political candidate but that the money would be best spent on pigs feet. He was a yellow dog democrat.
