231 million US population in 1982 when Reagan was elected.304 million US population when Obama was elected and 326 million currently.I agree that even when the population increase has been factored in the numbers of mass shootings have drastically increased.However,the drastic population increase does factor in because the higher the population the higher the # of mentally ill and radicals.One cannot completely ignore the numbers.
ReplyDeleteThose numbers are disproportionate. A 30% increase in population should not equate to an 1800% rise in mass shootings.And there's much more going on besides mental illness. You're probably closer when you talk about radicals, but those aren't population dependent in a large degree. It's politics and religious radicalism that are driving this.

ReplyDeleteI don't know the answer but I do know that gun dealers, manufacturers, conservatives opposing Obama and the NRA are responsible for millions and millions of additional gun sales since Obama has taken office caused in part by irresponsible scare talk. It is hard to tell who is crazy with fear and who are perfectly sane but trying to make others crazy with fear.
ReplyDeleteThe fact is - National Average Response Time for Police after 911 call is placed is 11 MINUTES, some rural areas almost close to 20 MINUTES. And that's if You Have Make 911 Call. So, now we all have decision to make - what is the best way to protect your family and love ones. My answer is 2nd Amendment. Let me just say, some of those sick devil-twisted terrorist with weapon training could destroy many lives within 20 minutes. And if it is in GUN FREE ZONE, well, that could be hours, while you sitting like a duck with nothing but broomstick in hand. The choice is yours.
