Martin O'Malley struggling to gain support

BALTIMORE —Some people blame the unrest that followed the death of Freddie Gray on the zero-tolerance policies of former Baltimore Mayor Martin O'Malley. Now a presidential candidate, does that record help explain O'Malley's struggle to gain support?'

O'Malley has been in an unfamiliar place the last six months. He may have cruised to victory in Baltimore as mayor and in Maryland elected twice as governor, but he has had a hard time getting out of the gate nationally.

He continues to get attention with sound bites like this on about Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

"I think Donald Trump's comments are some outrageous, fascist, demagoguery, and I think it plays right into the hands of ISIL," O'Malley said.

  1. Who cares what he thinks. He screwed the people of Maryland and that's why we now have a Republican Governor.

  7. If O'Mick isn't getting traction, I'd say that's a sign that the peeple might be actually paying attention now.

  9. He has not run, or paid, for the clout that belongs to any party, Dumbocrat, or otherwise. You have to spend a LOT of $$$$ to get anywhere; that is true in ALL political parties! Just to get an appointment to some state agency costs you a boatload of $$$. Can you imagine what it would cost for a presidential run?
